Primary Responsibilities:
  • Performs laboratory tests and procedures, which require independent judgment and responsibility with minimal supervision by the lead tech and laboratory supervisor
  • Documents daily QC and corrective action as needed
  • Performs calibrations, linearity testing, and proficiency testing as required
  • Enters and verifies laboratory results in the LIS
  • Assists with the training and orientation of departmental personnel
  • Resolves problems with technical testing, and proficiency testing as required
  • Enters and verifies laboratory results in the LIS

  • Resolves problems with technical testing involving methodology, techniques and instrumentation utilization
  • Reviews and evaluates test results and reports for accuracy, precision, readability and consistency
  • Collects data, prepares reports, and compiles statistics directed
  • Checks supply inventory
  • Attends required meetings and participates in professional development activities
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Performs related work as required

Required Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences, as approved by the accrediting agencies
  • NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license
  • 1+ years of experience as a medical technologist

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of a minimum of 90 semester hours in an accredited college which meets the specific requirements for entrance into, and the successful completion of an internship program for medical technology in an accredited institution
  • ASCP or NCA

Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
  • Frequent standing and walking required for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Requires visual acuity and normal color perception

Working Condition:
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a medical group and laboratory environment

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $24.00 to $43.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
