Job description

Build the Products. Own the Pipeline. See Your Ideas Hit the Road.
Are you the person who can't walk past a poorly-designed product without mentally redesigning it? Do you get more excited about a prototype that finally *fits right* than almost anything else? If you live for the moment a concept goes from CAD file to a finished part bolted onto a real vehicle — this is your seat.
We're looking for a **Product Design & Development Manager** to take full ownership of our proprietary product pipeline — from the first spark of an opportunity, through design and engineering, all the way to a product that's live, selling, and delighting customers. This isn't a role where you manage a small piece of the puzzle. You own the whole board.
If you want autonomy, high-velocity execution, and the chance to build a product engine that consistently ships winners — keep reading.
What You'll Own
Opportunity Pipeline Management
You'll be the driving force behind our product opportunity board — the engine that turns ideas into action.
- Manage the product opportunity board in close partnership with Sales and Marketing
- Keep every opportunity crystal clear: status, priority, and next steps
- Keep the board sharp, current, and always ready for decision-making
- Turn approved opportunities into real projects — complete with briefs and timelines
Proprietary Product Management
You'll run our new product pipeline like a well-oiled machine, from concept to shelf.
- Manage a full portfolio of new product launches with steady, weekly momentum
- Push projects through every stage of development — no stalling, no drift
- Keep timelines, ownership, and next actions crystal clear across the board
- Get every product to true "launch-ready" — no loose ends, no surprisesProduct Design & Development
You'll lead the creative and technical engine behind every product we build.
- Lead in-house design in SolidWorks — from early concepts to production-ready files
- Direct freelancers, agencies, and contractors delivering CAD, drawings, and revisions
- Write sharp, clear briefs so design and engineering partners know exactly what "great" looks like
- Hold every partner accountable to deadlines and deliverables
- Ensure everything that comes out the other end nails fitment, manufacturability, and quality
Product Testing & Fitment
You'll be hands-on — literally putting every product to the test on real vehicles.
- Receive, install, and test prototypes directly on vehicles
- Document fitment, performance, and quality with precision — photos, measurements, notes
- Deliver sharp, actionable feedback that makes the next revision better
- Give final sign-off before anything moves to production
Supplier & Production Execution
You'll be the connective tissue between design intent and manufacturing reality.
- Coordinate with overseas manufacturing partners to keep production on time and on spec
- Communicate approvals, revisions, and requirements clearly across time zones
- Lock down specs, BOMs, packaging, and QC expectations
- Keep cost targets and launch schedules on track
Product Launch Readiness
You'll make sure nothing launches until it's truly ready to win.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Experience for smooth, confident launches
- Confirm every readiness item is buttoned up: SKUs, instructions, packaging, naming, documentation
- Set internal teams up to sell and support with total confidence
- Spot launch risks early and drive solutions before they become problems
The Fine Print (Because This Role Gets Hands-On)
This is not a desk-only job. You'll be regularly testing and validating fitment directly on vehicles, which means the essential physical functions of this role include (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Working safely in and around vehicle lifts, including positioning vehicles and working underneath raised vehicles
- Getting into and out of confined spaces beneath a vehicle, including lying on a creeper or the ground for extended periods
- Climbing and working from stepladders to access engine bays and elevated points on a vehicle
- Climbing onto and working atop vehicle roof racks to test structural integrity and load capacity
- Lifting, carrying, and maneuvering parts and equipment up to 50 lbs
- Bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching in tight mechanical spaces for sustained periods
If a medical condition affects your ability to perform any of these functions, let us know — we're happy to discuss reasonable accommodations.
