About the team + role

The Robinhood Crypto Compliance team supports all of Robinhood in developing and deploying new and enhanced crypto products and services compliantly. They serve as Robinhood’s primary point of contact for compliance matters related to the firm's crypto business. This team is responsible for providing guidance, training, testing and supervisory support, acting as an escalation point, general policy and procedure updates and implementation, and acting in an advisory capacity to provide regulatory guidance as applied to crypto.

As the Crypto AML Program Manager, you will report to Robinhood Crypto’s AML Officer and play a key role within the Robinhood Crypto Compliance team. In this position, you will coordinate with financial crimes and fraud teams to support our compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. You will guide the development, testing, deployment, and retrospective assessment of new and enhanced crypto products. By collaborating with Product, Risk, and Legal, you will ensure our product offerings meet all regulatory and internal policy requirements. Additionally, you will partner with international colleagues and external business associates to implement program updates and corrective actions!

This role is based in our Denver, CO, Menlo Park, CA, New York, NY, Westlake, TX office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do
  • Develop and maintain appropriate oversight of shared services related to financial crimes compliance.
  • Collaborate with our global AML Officers to support program alignment across international entities.
  • Advise Business, Legal, and Compliance teams in identifying AML, Sanctions, and Fraud considerations in ideation, design, development, testing, and launching of crypto products.
  • Support the licensing process and ongoing compliance requirements for state and international licenses.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on AML and Sanctions regulatory requirements, translating regulatory updates into actionable program enhancements.
  • Draft, update, and maintain comprehensive compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, and risk methodologies for the Crypto AML and Sanctions program.
  • Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables for key Financial Crimes-related initiatives.
  • Evaluate and respond to compliance-related inquiries and information requests from external partners, banks, and auditors.
  • Support regulatory filings, exams, and inquiries.
  • Support Risk Assessments and audit efforts.
  • Support board and committee reporting.
What you bring

  • Resourceful, autonomous, and adaptive when managing multiple projects with shifting timelines.
  • 7+ years of AML and sanctions experience, with at least 2+ years specifically within Crypto compliance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fraud prevention and detection, including 1+ years of experience analyzing crypto-specific fraud typologies.
  • Deep understanding of NYDFS Part 504 regulations and their application to cryptocurrency programs.
  • Familiarity with EU and UK AML regulations and international compliance frameworks (e.g., MiCA, UK Money Laundering Regulations).
  • Proven experience managing complex compliance projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Strong communication skills that build trusted relationships among relevant business partners.
  • Proficiency in SQL to extract compliance data, build queries, and develop reports for management decision-making.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities and collaborate across international time zones.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

$170,000 - $200,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)

$150,000 - $176,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)

$133,000 - $156,000 USD
