Job description

Registered Veterinary Technician in Internal Medicine

VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center is expanding our Internal Medicine service, and we're looking for a skilled, compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. If you're passionate about complex case work, advanced diagnostics, and being part of a collaborative specialty hospital, this is your opportunity to take your skills to the next level.
As a 24/7/365 specialty and emergency hospital, AVCC offers the equipment, caseload, and mentorship giving our technicians the chance to work on the full spectrum of internal medicine cases, from routine to rare.
What You'll Do
  • Monitor anesthesia and sedation for a wide range of procedures
  • Collect thorough patient histories and communicate with clients about diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Perform and assist with physical exams
  • Place advanced IV catheters, jugular catheters, and nasal cannulas; perform advanced venipuncture
  • Run laboratory diagnostics and assist with diagnostic imaging
  • Assist with endoscopy, feeding tube placement, and other advanced procedures
  • Collaborate closely with Internists, technicians, and every service across the hospital

Compensation:
The starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
Schedule: Full-time (four 10-hour weekdays), volunteer weekend on call, and optional holiday availability.

What We're Looking For
  • 1+ years of clinical veterinary experience
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT), or eligible to sit for the VTNE
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia protocols and patient monitoring
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, high-caseload environment
