Job Description
Position Title: Carrier Transicold Service Technician
Shift:1st Shift
Br/Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Dept: Carrier Service Fort Wayne
Position Reports To: Branch Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
CUSTOMER SUPPORT EXCELLENCE:
Since every employee is the face of Crosspoint Power amp; Refrigeration to our customers, it is the responsibility of all successful candidates to provide outstanding customer service and maintain excellent customer relations, as measured by the Excellence in All We Do core value of CP amp;R.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow company safety processes and procedures
  • Investigate and Diagnose issues
  • Assist on regular repair or preventative maintenance
  • Communicate well and participate as a team member
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Assist on installation/repairs of transportation refrigeration units. Which includes and not limited to:
    • Fuel tanks and lines
    • Interior chute systems
    • Satellite systems
    • Door switches and fuel level sensors
    • Pre-delivery inspections
    • Pm Services
    • Assist in the installation of APU’s (Auxiliary power units)
  • Maintain a clean and safe shop, which includes and not limited to:
    • Empty all trash daily
    • Sweep floors, as needed
    • Scrub floors with floor scrubber as needed
    • Assist in organizing the shop when needed
    • Assist in maintaining outside areas and keep organized
  • Additional job duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-year refrigeration experience, preferred
  • 3 years diesel experience, preferred
  • 1-year mechanical experience, required
  • 12-volt electrical knowledge, preferred
  • Valid Indiana driver license, required
  • Willingness to take instructions, directions and be a strong team player

    • The ability to work with little or no supervision
    • Good attendance record
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employee must have the ability and desire to work overtime and shift needed by the company. This can include different shifts, and weekends. Be able to work in unfavorable weather conditions while performing physical work. There is PPE required for position which are safety goggles and steel-toe or composite safety work boots. Safety goggles are provided by Crosspoint, and full-time employees are eligible for a reimbursement for the purchase of safety boots.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position is a physically demanding position. The employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, climb up and down ladders and to do repetitive tasks. Employee may be required to lift heavy objects, up to 50 lbs. Employee must be able to pass a DOT physical.
NOTE FOR POSITION:
This is a full-time position, with complete benefits. Compensation will be at an hourly rate, rate determined by new hire’s experience.
