Job description

Our church... is a non-denominational multi-site church with four St. Louis-area campuses where we gather each weekend to study this ancient story found in Scripture that is still transforming lives today. We believe church should be a place where believers in Jesus and skeptics can stand side-by-side to study truth and ask tough questions. We blend teaching and worship with art and technology to create a service where you can experience the message of Jesus in practical and life-changing ways.
Kids Coordinator......is a 28 hour per week part time position responsible for equipping and empowering Coaches and team members with the goal of developing a volunteer-led ministry. This position calls for a highly relational and adaptable person who will foster a high quality, fun, safe and relational environment in the weekend experiences in KidsCrossing and throughout the week through connection, coaching, scheduling, and care.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for Jesus Christ, the vision of the Crossing, as well as KidsCrossing, and for building authentic faith in children that lasts a lifetime.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Identifying and developing Coaches to care for ministry teams per the Lead Small mode
  • Actively working to staff the weekend schedule and overseeing volunteer leaders who assist with scheduling
  • Scheduling, training and equipping team members
  • Actively working to relationally invite and recruiting new people to join KidsCrossing team
  • Empowering your serving teams to recruit new team members
  • Meeting with Coaches on a regular basis to encourage, equip and disciple them
  • Managing team members by providing feedback and resources for growth
  • Encourage team care through the Four C's, Meal Trains, cards, and other modes of care
  • Attend KidsCrossing and campus staff meetings, staff lunches, and Kids team meetings
  • Responsible for curriculum/supply set up for Nursery, 1's/2's, PreK, and By Design areas

Weekend Execution Responsibilities
  • Weekly communication to team members that includes vision, schedule and curriculum
  • Adapt monthly curriculum for Nursery-Two's and By Design so that spiritual learning occurs in those areas
  • Ensure that rooms, stages, SG supplies and materials are set appropriately for the coming weekend
  • Ensure that rooms are clean, well-organized, and have appropriate equipment to meet age level needs
  • Oversee the large group staffing and programming and provide appropriate feedback to the programming team
  • Fill in as needed

Parent Connect Responsibilities
  • Train and empower Small Group Leaders to be the first point of contact with parents to connect church and home
  • Communicate with parents regarding behavior issues, incidents/accidents and follow up during the week when necessary
  • Model an environment that communicates encouragement and praises to parents regarding their kids
  • Invite parents to Explore, Experience, and Express for their spiritual development
  • Work with families of special needs children to find shadows and assistance for their child's needs while attending KidsCrossing
  • Provide care for families needing support, including meal trains, cards, care calls

Event Responsibilities
  • Help to create and execute special events at MR as well as church-wide special events including but not limited to:
    • Child Dedication Class and Services
    • Team Member Training and Appreciation
    • Coach Meetings
    • Deck the Halls
    • MOLO
    • All other KidsCrossing events at MID

Education/Training and Certificates
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, but not required or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working in children's ministry, as staff or volunteer
  • Experience working with children in a formal setting
  • Knowledge of child development
