CCSD 180 Crossing Guard/Safe Passage Job Description

General Purpose: ย Safe Passage/Crossing Guards are responsible for the safety of children going to Anne M. Jeans at an assigned location in the Willowbrook Complex.ย  The work involves supervising any person in crossing streets all with the emphasis on safety.ย ย ย 
Essential Job Functions:ย 
Applies appropriate knowledge of traffic laws and uses clear and proper traffic management signals to both pedestrians and vehicular traffic to safely cross any person within the designated school crossing zones.ย 
Communicates with the Crossing Guard Supervisor to report any information, problems or concerns regarding the school zone where the Crossing Guard is assigned to work.
Ability to deal effectively and courteously with associates, school staff and the general public.ย ย ย 
Adheres to program policies, procedures and safe work practices.ย 
Other related duties as assigned.
ย Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience:ย 
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Must complete the crossing guard/safe passage training program required.
Very knowledgeable (or preferably a member) of the community they wish to serve
Consistent track record for being reliable and on time
Able to physically stand for one hour and tolerate all weather conditions
Must be able to pass Background Checkย 
Time: 7:15-8:15a.m. from May 12, 2026ย through May 29, 2026 and 2026-2027 School Year
Pay: $19.50/hour
Proof of negative TB test
Completed on-line application
Completed fingerprinting via ROE
