To thrive as a Chief Revenue Officer, you need a strong background in sales strategy, revenue growth management, and business development, often supported by a degree in business, finance, or related fields. Familiarity with CRM platforms (such as Salesforce), data analytics tools, and revenue management systems is typically required. Job description

About AJ Media
AJ Media is a performance-driven DTC eCommerce company operating a portfolio of brands across different verticals. We're in a phase of rapid growth, scaling our portfolio aggressively across multiple markets.
Our CEO previously scaled multiple 8-9 figure brands on the agency side - now we're doing it in-house with a vengeance. We've built a sharp executive team around that mission, and we're hiring operators who want to grow with us.
We don't win on guesswork - we win on conversion math. Every advertorial headline, every sales page module, every checkout element, every upsell offer is a lever we pull to move CVR, AOV, and LTV in the right direction.
We think the best funnel work happens when the person writing the advertorial is the same person iterating on the sales page, the checkout, and the upsell stack.
Why AJ Media
The right person wants this role for the environment, the culture, the teammates they work with, and the autonomy they get. No fluff, no B.S., no red tape.
  • Direct ownership - you run it, you own it, you see the results
  • High-leverage role - a key bottleneck to AJ Media's growth is full-funnel performance. You remove that bottleneck.
  • No red tape - decisions move fast, execution is what matters
  • Shared resources from day one (developer, graphic designer) - devs handle most of the technical build
  • Path to scale - build your own small team as the portfolio grows
  • Remote-first, results-driven culture - flexible work, high accountability
  • Performance incentives tied directly to the funnel lift you deliver
  • Competitive compensation, paid leaves, and allowances
Compensation
This is a highly performance-driven role. Base is competitive; the real upside is in variable comp tied to measurable funnel lift. We're looking for people who believe in their ability to move the needle and want to be paid for it.
Performance variable is uncapped and tied to measurable funnel lift.
Open Worldwide - We're hiring the best talent regardless of location.
The Opportunity
We're looking for Copywriter-CRO hybrids who own the full post-click funnel: advertorial, sales page, checkout, and upsells. You're the person who takes a funnel that's converting at 2% and iterates it to 4% - then to 6% - through sharper copy, better offer structure, smoother checkout, and smarter upsell logic.
This is an equal-parts role on writing and conversion optimization. If you can write an advertorial that sells but can't read a funnel report, this isn't for you. If you can run split tests all day but can't write copy that carries a reader from problem to purchase, this isn't for you. We need the full stack.
All you need to do is have obsessive focus on improving funnel performance.
This is not an ads role. We are not hiring a Meta, TikTok, or paid social ads copywriter. We are not hiring a VSL scriptwriter. We are hiring someone who owns the full post-click funnel end-to-end.
What Your Projects Will Involve
Part 1 - Funnel Copywriting
1. Advertorials & Pre-Sale Pages
  • Write native-style articles that blend editorial credibility with salesmanship, warming prospects for conversion
  • Structure advertorials around proven DR frameworks (PAS, AIDA, Problem-Agitate-Solution, story-led)
  • Apply deep knowledge of advertorial structure and health/beauty compliance (FDA/FTC) so copy sells without creating claims risk

2. Sales Pages (Long-Form & Product Pages)
  • Write and rewrite long-form sales pages that carry cold and warm traffic from hook to checkout
  • Own product page copy: headlines, subheads, benefit stacks, FAQs, reviews positioning, risk reversal
  • Structure the full page argument - problem, promise, proof, offer, urgency, objection handling

3. Checkout & Post-Purchase Copy
  • Checkout page microcopy - bump offers, trust elements, guarantee framing, shipping reassurance
  • Order bumps, one-click upsells, down-sells, and Thank You page offers
  • Post-purchase email and SMS flows that drive repeat purchase and LTV
  • Bonus: direct experience with CheckoutChamp (not required - our dev team handles the technical build)
Part 2 - Conversion Rate Optimization
4. Full-Funnel Ownership & Iteration
  • Audit live funnels end-to-end: advertorial → sales page → checkout → upsells → Thank You page
  • Identify the weakest step and attack it first - with a hypothesis, a test, and a measurable expected outcome
  • Iterate continuously. Most funnels we inherit have a clear ceiling; your job is to break it, then break the next one

5. Sales Page & Checkout CRO
  • Redesign page structure, above-the-fold experience, section order, and offer presentation to maximize CVR
  • Optimize checkout for completion - reduce friction, surface trust, time bumps and upsells correctly
  • Ensure ad-to-advertorial-to-sales-page congruence (the biggest silent CVR killer in DTC)

6. Upsell Architecture & AOV Optimization
  • Design and test upsell logic - product selection, sequencing, pricing, copy, timing
  • Engineer offer stacks that lift AOV without tanking front-end CVR
  • Test bundles, tiered pricing, free-plus-shipping mechanics, continuity, BOGO, and risk reversal structures

7. Testing, Data & Reporting
  • Build structured test plans with clear hypotheses, success metrics, and minimum sample sizes
  • Run A/B and multivariate tests to statistical significance on headlines, hooks, offers, page layouts, and upsell logic
  • Analyze funnel metrics (CVR, AOV, LTV, CPA, checkout abandonment, upsell take-rate, scroll depth) to identify friction and opportunity
  • Use heatmaps, session recordings, and on-page analytics to inform copy and layout decisions
  • Report weekly on test results, winners, losers, and next hypotheses - in plain language, not vanity metrics

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of hands-on CRO work - not just reading about it, but running tests and shipping winners
  • Working knowledge of A/B testing methodology - sample size, statistical significance, test prioritization frameworks (ICE, PIE)
  • Familiarity with DTC testing and analytics concepts (CVR, AOV, LTV, CPA, statistical significance, heatmaps, session recordings). Hands-on experience with specific tools is a plus but not required - we run all our tests on CheckoutChamp and our devs handle the technical execution
  • Ability to research products and audiences thoroughly to identify core pain points and unique selling propositions
  • Exceptional range - from punchy headlines to long-form persuasive narratives
  • Reliable, deadline-driven, and a proactive communicator
Core Skills
  • Direct Response writing frameworks
  • Advertorial and pre-sale page construction
  • Landing page CRO and funnel optimization
  • A/B and multivariate test design and analysis
  • Heatmap, session recording, and funnel analytics interpretation
  • Offer engineering and conversion psychology
  • Audience and product research
