POSITION OVERVIEW

The Business Applications Administrator (Salesforce Platform Lead) is responsible for the end-to-end administration, architecture, optimization, and strategic governance of Salesforce as the organization's core enterprise CRM platform.

This role serves as the technical owner and strategic lead for Salesforce, driving platform scalability, data integrity, system integrations, and business transformation initiatives across C-Path. The Administrator partners with senior stakeholders across Portfolio Management, Finance, HR, Communications, and external partners to align Salesforce capabilities with organizational priorities and long-term strategy.

In addition to Salesforce leadership, this role oversees a portfolio of enterprise SaaS applications, ensuring seamless integrations, process automation, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. The position acts as a trusted advisor to leadership, influencing system design, governance, and digital transformation efforts.

CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Salesforce Platform Ownership & Strategy

  • Serve as the primary owner and architect of the Salesforce platform, including governance, roadmap planning, and scalability.
  • Lead design and implementation of complex Salesforce solutions, including custom objects, flows, automation, and integrations.
  • Define and enforce data governance, security models, and system standards.
  • Partner with leadership to align Salesforce capabilities with organizational strategy and KPIs.
  • Evaluate and implement AppExchange solutions and third-party integrations.
  • Manage sandbox environments, release cycles, and deployment strategies.

Advanced Salesforce Administration

  • Configure and optimize Salesforce Lightning Experience, flows, validation rules, and automation.
  • Develop advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics to support executive decision-making.
  • Monitor platform performance, storage, and system health.
  • Lead data architecture design, including data models, integrations, and migration strategies.

Integration & Systems Architecture

  • Design and manage system integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications (finance, HR, project management, document systems).
  • Oversee APIs, middleware, and data pipelines ensuring reliable and secure data exchange.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on system interoperability and architecture decisions.

Enterprise Applications Support

  • Provide oversight and governance for additional SaaS platforms (e.g., Monday.com, DocuSign, financial and HR systems).
  • Drive cross-platform automation and process optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent user experience and data flow across systems.

User Enablement & Change Management

  • Lead organization-wide Salesforce adoption initiatives, including training programs and change management.
  • Develop scalable training frameworks, documentation, and knowledge base resources.
  • Act as escalation point for complex system issues.

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Own Salesforce security architecture, including roles, profiles, permission sets, and data access controls.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, GDPR, and organizational data governance policies.
  • Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Stay ahead of Salesforce releases, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Identify and implement automation and AI-driven enhancements.
  • Recommend strategic improvements to leadership based on system insights and analytics.
  • Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities across supported systems.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Deep expertise in Salesforce platform architecture, administration, and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce data modeling, automation (Flows), and security frameworks.
  • Experience with Salesforce integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, ETL tools).
  • Ability to design scalable, enterprise-level CRM solutions.
  • Advanced analytical skills with ability to translate business needs into technical architecture and solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and security standards.
  • Experience managing multi-system environments and SaaS ecosystems.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization and automation.
  • Experience with Agile or structured project delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7โ€“10 years of experience in business applications, CRM systems, or enterprise platforms.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce administration experience in a complex environment.
  • Proven experience leading Salesforce implementations, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Salesforce Administrator certification required.
  • Advanced certifications strongly preferred (e.g., Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, Sales/Service Cloud Consultant).
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms and system integrations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Experience leading or mentoring others or serving as a technical lead preferred.
