Schedule:

Schedules may vary to accommodate time zones:

M-F 8 am-5 pm

M-F 9 am-6 pm

M-F 10 am-7 pm

M-F 11 am-7:30 pm

Starting Pay:$18/hour, based on experience

Select Medical is seeking a detailoriented, motivated Health Records Specialist to support our inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative medical record reviews
  • Communicate with physicians regarding incomplete medical records and follow up to ensure timely completion in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Accurately scan and index records according to policy
  • Communicate effectively with hospital leaders, physicians, and clinicians to ensure proper record maintenance and timely resolution of issues
  • Process release of information requests in compliance with departmental, state, and federal requirements
  • Abstract clinical and quality data from medical records for internal and external reporting needs
  • Assist leadership with timely data collection and submission, including CMS reporting requirements
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  • Meet annual goals and complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Two (2) years of experience in a Health Information department within a healthcare facility
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize
  • Demonstrated problemsolving skills, urgency, and respect for confidentiality
  • Experience with Epic or other EMRs and database systems
  • Ability to communicate professionally with hospital staff, clinicians, and external partners
  • Customerservice mindset with a collaborative approach
  • Ability to adapt to changing workload and workflow demands
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or related healthcare field
  • RHIT or RHIA certification
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and Joint Commission standards
