JOB LOCATION : SGMC Patient Financial Services
DEPARTMENT: PFS CUSTOMER SERVICE
SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift,
POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for collection of charges on Inpatient & certain Outpatient accounts, self-pay, and patient liability portion of insurance accounts prior to patient's discharge, while maintaining a high level of public relations. Assists patient/family in assessing eligibility for available funds through SGMC programs and outside resources when the patient meets appropriate criteria for assistance. Responsible for obtaining Insurance information prior to discharge. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Two year associate degree preferred. Two years collection experience required, preferably in a medical setting. Knowledge of the FDCPA highly desirable. HFMA Certified Financial Counselor certification preferred.
