The produce clerk is an important position within the store. Many customers make their decisions to shop at our store because of the quality of the perishable departments and specifically the quality of the produce that we make available to them. This position is responsible for creating an appealing presentation of the tremendous variety and selection of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and other products that we offer. The product must be fresh -- Looks good, smells right; with just the proper feel and firmness for the product, sounds good (for example a crisp apple as a "snap" when you bite into it), and of course tastes great. The produce clerk can make the difference by the way he or she does their job.Observe all company policies and procedures. Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and adhere to dress code regulations. Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil code regulations Assist in controlling potential for damage to goods and handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy. Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory controlWe need to treat each individual like a guest in our home -- with courtesy, friendliness and the respect that they deserve.
