Gastroenterology APP at Parker, CO
Pay range $136,690-$148,224
AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking an APP to provide comprehensive care, support and education to patients and their families through all aspects of their Gastroenterology medical and surgical care
process. The APP will participate as a key member of the GI team at AdventHealth Parker to identify and meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient. We are looking for someone who utilizes a collaborative multi-disciplinary approach to the patient/family's care, serving
as an expert practitioner, educator, consultant, and researcher in the inpatient, operative, and outpatient settings. They will also be expected to maintain responsibility for job performance specifications and assume personal accountability for departmental mission, organizational mission, and
the core values of AdventHealth.

Job Description:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs clinical examinations as necessary for outpatient visits. This includes seeing new patients,

  • consults, and established patients with gastroenterology concerns.

  • Orders and interprets test results.

  • Functions as a resource for individuals with questions regarding their diagnosis or treatment and coordinates the multidisciplinary plan of care.

  • Provides education to patients/families (individuals/groups) about current and potential health problems, the treatment plan, selfcare and prevention to achieve independence and maximum wellness.

  • Writes orders and prescriptions.

  • Makes referrals to specialists as indicated by patient situation.

  • Works in collaboration with other APPs and physicians using established and approved protocols as required by institutional policy.

  • Maintains thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records. Documents ongoing status, interventions, communications, patient response and outcomes inaccurate, timely manner.

  • Adapts to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, workload and staffing through priority setting, use of sound critical thinking, and flexibility.

  • Active Nurse Practitioner License or Physician Assistant License

  • Full Prescriptive Authority


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Master’s Degree

  • 2+ years of GI experience is preferred, but will consider new graduate with recent completion of GI fellowship


    LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Certification by N.C.C.P.A.

  • Active physician assistant license by the state of Colorado

  • BLS
