Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Contractor will provide drafting support at Client facility near Charleston, SC for an estimated two-month period. The scope includes creating approximately 40 new fixture drawings and updating/verifying approximately 55 existing fixture drawings, with all drawings based solely on existing fixturing. The existing fixturing is assumed to be acceptable as-is; contractor responsibility is limited to documenting, updating, and verifying drawings rather than performing fixture design or engineering validation. Engineering support will be available for questions, and drawings are expected to be ready for release upon completion, subject to engineering review.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Use Creo Parametric software to (a) prepare new tooling drawings based on existing fixtures, (b) create drawings in Creo based on existing PDF drawings, and (c) verify existing drawings match physical tooling hardware.
* Utilize specifications, reference data and vendor data to complete drafting and design assignments.
* Perform tolerance studies and associated mathematical calculations.
* Ability to adhere and follow guidelines and standards set forth, with respect to drawing format and requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Six years drafting experience and an AA degree in drafting or a certificate of completion of an engineering program from a trade school or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
* Proficient Creo Parametric skills with 6000 hours minimum of hands on experience.
* Experience in the design of fixtures and tooling designed for the aerospace or related fields.
* Demonstrate a working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, ANSI Y14.5, military standards for engineering drawings, DOD-STD-100 and DOD-D-1000, machine shop practices and proficient in the use of descriptive geometry and trigonometry.
* Proficient in the use of 2D CAD/CAM and 3D CAD/CAM wireframe and solids work preferred.
* Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
* Familiar with personal computer operations and software (Word, Excel, etc.)
