The Principal Propulsion Engineer will lead the design, development, and testing of advanced gas turbine propulsion systems. This is a hands-on leadership position that drives next-generation turbojet programs from concept through validation and production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead propulsion system development initiatives from concept through qualification and production
  • Conduct trade studies and system analyses to guide design strategy and performance optimization
  • Design and analyze turbomachinery components and subsystems
  • Perform aerodynamic and structural evaluations to resolve design and service issues
  • Develop engineering documentation, including drawings, models, specifications, and reports
  • Lead propulsion system testing and data analysis for validation and optimization
  • Provide technical mentorship and oversight to junior engineers
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives and the PBS technology roadmap

BACKGROUND PROFILE:
  • U.S. citizenship required (defense contractor eligibility)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (Master's or Ph.D. preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in gas turbine propulsion design and development
  • Proven success leading turbomachinery projects from concept through testing
  • Expertise with CAD and analysis tools (FEA, CFD); proficiency with Creo, ANSYS preferred
  • Deep knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, materials, and structural design
  • Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes (brazing, welding, additive, forging, casting, machining)
  • Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles for high-volume production
  • Experience with MIL-STD requirements and defense propulsion programs strongly preferred
