Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Build a weld fixture to production standards working with Manufacturing Engineering and tool designers. Will do layout work working with complicated blueprints and/or sketches.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Devise and build efficient, dependable fixtures/tools for use in fabricating production components.
  • Maintain, repair and change fixtures as required by the customer or Engineering staff.
  • Work closely with supervision and fellow employees to support the department mission.
  • Comply with all Company policies and practices as specified.
  • Report labor and job data accurately.
  • Maintain quality, safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain clean and neat work area.
  • Perform other jobs within the department or plant as required by supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Frequently exposed to noise, odors, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, drafts, electricity and heights. Typically requires the use of cranes, hoists, welders, grinders, drill press, brake press, saws, etc. Hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection, face shield or goggles, welding helmet and gloves are required.
