Job description

Short-Term Inbound Material Handlers

Join now and earn a $3.00/hour bonus for all hours worked! Bonus is paid at the end of the contract and requires full contract completion to qualify.

We are currently seeking Short-Term Inbound Material Handlers (6 months) for our 1st shift at our distribution center in Cumberland, MD. This is a temporary assignment with the potential for contract extension based on business needs and performance review.

The Inbound Material Handler is responsible for unloading, checking in and stocking new inventory into the warehouse. These tasks must be completed to an efficient and accurate standard to ensure smooth inbound operations. This position requires use of our internal warehouse systems and various warehouse equipment, which may include Powered Industrial Trucks.

Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Unload live domestic deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment, or unload import containers by hand
  • Use our ERP system to systematically receive inventory accurately and efficiency, ready to be placed in storage racking
  • Move palletized product using pallet jacks/forklift equipment to organize the receiving dock, or transport product to other areas of the Distribution center
  • Scan and place inventory in racking locations using forklift equipment and a handheld scanning device, ready for warehouse operations
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards
  • Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership
  • Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
  • Abide by all company and warehouse policies
  • Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation
Work Hours

1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 7am to 5:30pm

Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.
Qualifications Experience
  • 1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
