Job Title: Student Worker - Creekside Corner Store Clerk - Mission Waco
Job Classification: Community Service, Student

Job Description:
POSSITION SUMMARY - Assists and supports the Chief Village Officer in operating the small, private convenience store on Creekside Community Village campus. MUST BE ELIGIBLE for FEDERAL WORK-STUDY. This is off-campus employment, so reliable transportation is important.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION - Operate a point-of-sale system checking out Neighbors who shop in the private convenience store located on Creekside's campus. Assist with stocking and cleaning/organizing as needed.
REQUIRED HARD SKILLS - Proficiency in technical and computer skills (Word, excel, phone and email). Reliable form of transportation and license. Some familiarity with point-of-sale systems preferred or willingness to learn. Time management and prioritization ability.
REQUIRED SOFT SKILLS: Intentionality, personable, adaptable, motivated and eager to learn, mature and communicable Christian Faith and spiritual life. Willingness to work alongside formerly homeless men and women.
LEARNING OUTCOMES - Familiarity with Mission Waco and Creekside Community Village. Experience operating a small retail store, administrative proficiency, creative problem solving and flexible thinking/planning skills, facility management skills, and experiential knowledge of the importance and impact of community service and poverty alleviation.
Hourly Rate: $11.00- $12.50/hour (depending on new or returning student worker status and/or any recognized special skill level)
