To provide exceptional member service through the quality of the work completed for the membership.
Essential Responsibilities:
- (70%) Works under general supervision and follows established policies, procedures and requirements under the FCRA and Metro 2® furnishing requirements to investigate and respond to direct and indirect consumer credit disputes. Validates credit reporting data for SECU and process corrections when necessary, ensuring a positive member experience.
- (15%) Communicates with members and member-facing staff on status of credit dispute matters, including researching reporting concerns and acting on resolution.
- (10%) Develop credit reporting knowledge -- Complete training on credit reporting basics, federal CDIA guidance, Metro2® reporting standards, and SECU policies and procedures related to furnishing and disputing credit data.
- (5%) Complete required learning modules and continuing education requirements.
Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
- Minimum education: HS Diploma or GED
- Minimum direct experience: 0-2 years of credit reporting experience
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks within stringent time requirements
- Must be able to use available resources to locate and acquire information regarding regulations and SECU policies and guidelines
- Must be willing to engage in ongoing training and professional development
- Ability to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions
- High attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- A general knowledge of lending compliance and relevant regulations, including FCRA, FACTA, GLB, BSA, ECOA, and UDAAP, as related to ensuring fair and accurate credit reporting
- Experience using e-Oscar or credit dispute management software
- Experience using Data Studio or equivalent data furnishing validation software
- Experience operating in a highly regulated role
Job Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Hybrid work environment allowing remote work and requiring work from our Raleigh office at least 3 days per month
