Salary Range: $55,588 - $102,474
Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
Location: Boston, MA or Albany, NY
Principal Objective
This position plays a pivotal role in the execution of Beacon Bank & Trust's credit risk monitoring, analysis, and reporting programs. A Credit Risk Analyst II in the Reporting and Analytics group will be hands-on in supporting and enhancing the Bank's credit risk management and reporting capabilities. This role will leverage the analyst's proficiency in data, systems, and reporting tools combined with their practical knowledge of credit risk management principles.
A successful analyst will be a solution driven, intellectually curious self-starter who is proficient in accomplishing concurrent objectives. This individual should possess analytical skills, while consistently demonstrating a high degree of flexibility, teamwork, efficiency, and commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. This position necessitates attention to detail and effective communication skills to all levels of management.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Utilizes analytical tools such as Excel, Python, R, and/or SQL to execute and maintain reporting that provides key stakeholders timely and actionable insights on the credit risk in the portfolio.
  • Executes established reporting procedures and analytics activities on schedule.
  • Ability to provide underlying data and analytical support for key portfolio monitoring programs.
  • Ability to assist senior staff in preparation of custom reporting on short timelines.
  • Works collaboratively with other teams in Credit Risk Analytics and throughout the bank (e.g., Finance, Commercial Lending, Enterprise Analytics, etc.) as they relate to the Bank's credit risk data.
  • Ability to work with senior analysts to identify, research, and resolve any inconsistencies in the Bank's data to support the Bank's Data Governance Program in maintaining a high data quality standard, including working with servicing to process any updates.
  • Develops an active knowledge of the Bank's portfolio and credit metrics to identify outliers in data, reports, etc.
  • Develops an understanding of SOX and audit requirements around reporting that is used by the Bank to make key decisions and for inclusion in the Bank's financial reporting.
  • Assists with new employee onboarding and training.
  • Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred.

Experience:
  • 2+ years of financial analysis or related reporting work at a financial institution; preferably with experience in Credit Risk Management, Credit Administration, Lending, Loan Review, Loan Operations, or other relevant experience.

Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong Excel skills with proficiency in standard Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Python, R, and/or SQL.
  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of Credit Risk Fundamentals
  • Experience working with regulators and/or external auditors is a plus.
  • Familiarity with FIS loan accounting system is a plus.
  • Certifications such as Risk Management Associate (RMA), Credit Risk Certification (CRC), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Project Management Professional (PMP), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or similar relevant certification(s) a plus
