Student Recruitment & Enrollment Specialist

Career Success Schools (CSS)

Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Reports To: Director of Student Enrollment and Retention

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Position Summary

Career Success Schools (CSS), an alternative charter high school district serving students through flexible, student-centered educational models, is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Student Recruitment & Enrollment Specialist to lead outreach, recruitment, enrollment support, and student engagement efforts. This position plays a critical role in growing and sustaining student enrollment by building strong partnerships with schools, community organizations, probation departments, workforce agencies, social service providers, and families throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Specialist serves as a public-facing ambassador for CSS and works directly with prospective students who may benefit from alternative education pathways, credit recovery opportunities, flexible scheduling, dropout recovery programs, and career readiness services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic student recruitment plans aligned with district enrollment goals. Conduct outreach presentations at schools, community agencies, youth organizations, shelters, workforce programs, juvenile justice programs, and community events. Build and maintain relationships with counselors, social workers, probation officers, community partners, and referral agencies. Represent CSS at recruitment fairs, expos, open houses, and public engagement events. Assist prospective students and families with the enrollment and registration process. Explain program offerings, graduation pathways, attendance expectations, and available student support services. Conduct intake interviews and assess student needs for appropriate placement and support. Support student retention initiatives by monitoring attendance trends and student engagement. Participate in student outreach and re-engagement efforts for inactive or withdrawn students. Maintain recruitment databases, outreach logs, and enrollment metrics. Prepare monthly reports on recruitment activities, conversion rates, and enrollment trends. Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal student enrollment requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma/ GED, Minimum of two (2) years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, community outreach, education, workforce development, or youth engagement. Experience working with at-risk youth, alternative education populations, or underserved communities strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Valid Arizona Driver License and reliable transportation. Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in alternative education, charter schools, dropout recovery, or credit recovery programs. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Familiarity with Phoenix-area community resources and educational support systems. Experience using student information systems or CRM databases for recruitment tracking.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills. Ability to build trust and rapport with disconnected youth and families. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments. Data tracking and reporting proficiency. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace platforms.
Working Conditions

Frequent local travel throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. Combination of office, campus, and community-based work environments. Moderate physical activity
