Job Summary:
The Outside Sales position develops and manages sales and marketing territory to ensure profit growth and expansion of Company's products.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:
  • Builds relationships with current and prospective customers via personal and phone interactions, ensuring the completion of plan take-offs, bids, quotes, and addressing inquiries.
  • Prepares and presents accurate sales proposals and quotes to prospective and current customers.
  • Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their business needs to identify and suggest products and services to meet those needs.
  • Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
  • Stays current with account receivables status and assists with payment/collections of receivables for own clients.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise.
  • Performs job-site visits to ensure delivery and timely completion of orders.
  • Research and provide accurate information to customers regarding proper materials and prices as well as technical information regarding application and specifications.
  • Coordinates all deliveries and credit pick-ups with yard dispatcher
  • Ensures all projects generate appropriate profit margins to company standards
  • Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
  • Responsible for the generation of new customers.
  • Keeps abreast of current product developments in the industry.
  • Communicates information pertinent to competition, market conditions, credit and accounts' needs and requirements.
  • Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
  • Develops process to track progress of customer's projects and monitors progress
  • Attend trade association events and participate as requested as a company representative (HBA, NARI, trade shows, etc...).
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Lumber sales experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education:
Associate's Degree or equivalent two year degree. In lieu of degree, at least 4 years of related experience.
