Job description

Credit Card Consultant

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Credit Card Consultant for a consultant opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities
  • Lead documentation of current and future-state consumer credit card processes, developing end-to-end process maps to support project execution.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for consumer credit card operations, including Visa/Mastercard transaction flows, card issuance and reissuance, plastics, inventory, and payment networks.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized program plan and governance structure across internal teams and external vendors.
  • Identify risks, process gaps, and conversion dependencies, providing recommendations to improve execution.
  • Partner with leadership to transfer domain knowledge and support informed decision-making throughout the project.
  • Independently facilitate stakeholder interviews and workshops with business leaders, SMEs, and external partners to gather information and document operational processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Project Management, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in consumer credit card operations, payment processing, or card portfolio conversions within banking or financial services.
  • Strong expertise in consumer credit card transaction flows, payment networks, and servicing operations.
  • Experience supporting mergers, system conversions, or large-scale integration initiatives involving multiple vendors and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business process documentation skills, including current/future-state process mapping, workflow analysis, and program governance.
  • Excellent project coordination, communication, and organizational skills.
