Adopt is seeking a Creative Director to lead creative strategy and craft across brand design, identity systems, communications, and campaigns that capture the imagination of consumers and deliver real value for our clients.
This role calls for a senior creative leader who brings a fresh perspective to every challenge and consistently produces work that is distinctive, effective, and culturally resonant. They lead by example conceptually, strategically, and creatively, developing world-class ideas and connected creative ecosystems while mentoring and elevating the talent around them.
This person brings ideas to life from first thought to final expression. They define the approach,
shape the work, and drive it through execution, operating comfortably in the workshop and in the work alongside their teams. They simplify the complex by turning layered strategic thinking into clear ideas and compelling storytelling that moves both teams and clients forward.
They are a multidisciplinary creative thinker who can bring a brand to life across any medium, from identity systems and campaigns to environments, content, and emerging platforms. They think beyond singular outputs, ensuring every touchpoint contributes to a unified world that feels intentional, immersive, and scalable. They are equally comfortable shaping ideas internally and presenting the work externally, crafting strong narratives and guiding client conversations with confidence. At Adopt, you'll help define how brands show up at the intersection of sport and culture, guiding

Responsibilities
• Build: Identify, grow, and develop talent in and for the Portland-based creative team, helping people achieve their best work.
• Lead: Inspire teammates to produce world-class ideas while coaching them to grow as creative professionals.
• Direct: Set the creative vision and guide projects from early thinking through final execution.
• Collaborate: Work side-by-side with teams and clients to develop strategies, shape concepts, and establish creative direction.
• Define: Take initiative to establish the approach, clarifying how the team moves from idea to outcome and how ideas expand into systems, platforms, and worlds.

Qualifications
• Located (or willing to relocate) near Portland, Oregon
• 12-15 years' experience in the creative industry
• An excellent portfolio that spans the full spectrum of brand design, brand identity, brand campaigns, and brand communications with evidence of building cohesive, multi-touchpoint brand worlds
• Exceptional design aesthetic, variations on styles, and awareness of design trends and innovation
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal), including strong deck writing and client presentation abilities
• A clear, creative point of view with the ability to contribute meaningfully to the strategic development of assignments
• Experience collaborating side-by-side with diverse strategic, creative, business, and production teams to seamlessly execute projects
• Superb professionalism and mature presence in all aspects - specifically working directly with high-profile executives, athletes, and talent
• Highly capable and confident in providing vision and direction on creative productions while shaping work that lives across platforms as a unified experience

Compensation Range: USD $159,695.00 - USD $229,425.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
