Job description

Position Summary
As a Technical Writer, you will create and maintain user documentation, including on-line help, user guides, tutorials, release notes, and in-person training materials. You will work closely with Project Managers, Programmer Analysts, and Quality Assurance to ensure that the documentation is accurate.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Translate technical information into user-friendly and grammatically correct content.
  • Prepare /maintain software documentation for users for all formats, including on-line help.
  • Prepare /maintain support documentation and training materials.
  • Create and send email communications to clients, announcing software updates, maintenance windows, and required actions.
  • Report quality issues discovered during creation of documentation to Quality Assurance Analysts.
  • Perform all duties in a professional, responsive, and collaborative manner with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Maintain literacy and up-to-date research on all programs and modifications.
  • Project a positive, cooperative image as a representative of the company aiding associates, clients and other third parties whenever possible.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor of Arts/Science in Technical Communication, English, or similar degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and creative with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Thrive on the responsibility of managing writing projects from start to finish.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker, RoboHelp and/or MadCap Flare preferred, but not required.
