Position Summary
The successful candidate will serve as Project Manager or Lead Traffic Engineer on transportation projects involving planning, analysis, and design.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Lead project meetings and give technical presentations.
  • Work on multiple assignments and be accountable for project/task schedules and budgets.
  • Support efforts in other disciplines and markets.
  • Apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas.
  • Participate in marketing efforts including meeting with clients and teaming partners.
  • Prepare proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for assignments.
  • Mentor and train supporting staff necessary to complete assignments.
  • Encourage staff participation and innovation.
  • Assist with employee reviews.
  • Perform invoicing, status reports, and related accounting needs and track accounts receivable.
  • Contribute to project and staffing backlog projections.
  • Help promote company fiscal and hiring goals.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering.
  • Virginia PE license or ability to obtain one within six months.
  • PTOE license is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in a similar position or equivalent working knowledge/experience in the field of traffic engineering.
  • Experience with VDOT design criteria, standards, and procedures.
  • Expertise in traffic engineering design and traffic operations.
  • Hands-on experience with HCS, Synchro, and VISSIM as well as MicroStation.
  • Experience and expertise in project management.
  • Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
