Job description

Position: Creative Designer

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Reports to: Creative Director

Overview:

The Creative Designer plays a key role in bringing the Andretti Global brand and its partner programs to life through thoughtful, high-quality creative execution. Based at Andretti Global's headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, this position supports a diverse range of initiatives spanning digital content, marketing campaigns, apparel, merchandise, event experiences and other branded assets. The role requires a versatile designer who can adapt their creative approach to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders while maintaining brand standards and delivering impactful work.

Reporting to the Creative Director, the Creative Designer will collaborate closely with colleagues across all areas of the organization, including the INDYCAR and Formula E teams, to develop creative solutions that support business objectives and enhance the fan, partner and stakeholder experience. This position will also work in close partnership with the Content team to help bring creative concepts to life through compelling visual storytelling and integrated campaigns.

As an early-career creative professional, the Creative Designer is expected to build strong cross-functional relationships, contribute to partner-facing projects and support the organization's mission, vision and strategic objectives. Occasional travel may be required to effectively support team initiatives, partner activations and race-related activities.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop creative assets across digital, print and physical applications, including social media content, marketing campaigns, event collateral, apparel, merchandise, partner activations and branded experiences
  • Build fluency in Andretti Globalโ€™s evolving visual identity system, including typography, color, layout, photography, graphic language and application standards, with the goal of creating work that feels connected across series, partners, platforms and touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with the Content team, Marketing team and key stakeholders across the organization to translate creative concepts into compelling visual storytelling that supports business objectives
  • Maintain proactive alignment with the Creative Director throughout the creative process, including sharing work-in-progress, seeking direction, and ensuring creative concepts are internally aligned.
  • Contribute to the ideation and development of creative concepts, campaigns and design solutions that elevate the Andretti Global brand and its partner programs
  • Support the Commercial team through the creation of business development materials, sponsorship presentations, sales collateral, conceptual renderings and other partner-facing assets
  • Execute creative projects from concept through final production while ensuring accuracy, consistency and adherence to brand standards
  • Partner with colleagues across INDYCAR, Formula E and other business units to develop creative solutions that support team initiatives, fan engagement efforts and commercial objectives
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Andretti Global's brand positioning and ensure consistent application of brand standards across all creative outputs
  • Stay current on emerging design trends, creative technologies and industry best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance creative quality and efficiency
  • Leverage modern creative tools and technologies, including AI-assisted design platforms, to improve workflow, accelerate content creation and support innovative storytelling approaches
  • Collaborate effectively within a fast-paced creative environment, balancing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of creative execution
  • Support race weekend, event and partner activation needs through the development of creative assets and occasional on-site execution as required
  • Contribute to a culture of creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement by sharing ideas, providing constructive feedback and supporting the success of the broader team

Education and Experience:

  • Applicants must provide a design portfolio with relevant professional or academic work to be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, Fine Arts or a related field preferred
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of professional design experience, including experience gained through internships, agencies, motorsports, sports and entertainment properties, brands or other fast-paced creative environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, with experience creating assets across digital, print and physical applications
  • Experience developing brand-consistent creative across multiple platforms, campaigns or businesses
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, hierarchy, color, image selection and visual identity systems.
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects, motion graphics and animation preferred
  • Capable of utilizing AI-powered creative tools such as Adobe Firefly and other emerging generative AI platforms to support creative development and production workflows preferred
  • Proficient in preparing artwork for production across a variety of mediums, including apparel, merchandise, signage, environmental graphics, event assets and other branded materials
  • Strong understanding of social media creative, digital content production and visual storytelling best practices
  • Ability to present creative thinking clearly, explain design decisions and incorporate feedback without losing sight of the project objective.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing deadlines and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to balance creative exploration with efficient execution in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to translate business objectives into compelling visual solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build productive relationships across departments and effectively support a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity and discretion, with the ability to operate effectively under pressure and represent the Andretti Global brand in a positive manner
