What is a Creative Science job?

A Creative Science job combines scientific knowledge with creative problem-solving to develop innovative ideas, products, or solutions. Professionals in this field use analytical thinking and imagination to apply science in new and unique ways, often working in fields like research, design, technology, or communication. They may collaborate on projects that blend science with art, education, media, or product development to make complex concepts more engaging and accessible. Creativity and scientific expertise are equally important in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Creative Science position, and why are they important?

To excel in a Creative Science role, you need a solid background in scientific research or applied sciences, complemented by a flair for innovation and idea generation. Familiarity with laboratory equipment, data analysis software, and creative problem-solving methodologies is commonly expected, and certifications in fields such as laboratory practices or design thinking can be valuable. Strong communication, adaptability, and collaboration are key soft skills for presenting complex concepts in accessible ways and working across multidisciplinary teams. These skills are crucial for driving scientific advancement through inventive solutions and effectively translating research into real-world applications.

What professions make 200,000 a year without a degree?

In creative science fields, roles such as freelance scientific consultants, specialized technical writers, or data analysts with strong skills and experience can reach or exceed $200,000 annually without a formal degree. Success often depends on expertise, portfolio, certifications, and industry demand, with many professionals leveraging skills in programming, data analysis, or scientific communication to achieve high earnings.

What are some common challenges faced in a Creative Science role?

Job description

Join the global leader in responsible marketing activation services
At HH Global, we help the world's most recognized brands turn their growth ideas into measurable impact through responsible marketing activation. We are a global marketing activation partner that connects brands to their customers and delivers sustainable marketing activation at scale. With over 4,000 colleagues across more than 55 countries, you'll join a diverse, high-performing community, empowered to deliver sustainable, innovative solutions for our clients.
Purpose of the Job
This role is a key part of a dedicated global in-house creative production team driving creative innovation within the marketing team of this long-time client - a global leader in the Tech industry. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Creative Technologist to join the team based in the US.
This role is focused on delivering high-volume, high-impact marketing assets for Above-the-Line (ATL), Below-the-Line (BTL), and Through-the-Line (TTL) campaigns, with a primary emphasis on the US and LATAM markets.
The ideal candidate is an expert at the intersection of creative production, software engineering, and emerging technology. A core responsibility will be leveraging AI and automation tools to revolutionize the creative workflow, significantly increasing asset output, improving operational efficiency, and directly contributing to revenue, customer acquisition, and return on investment (ROI). This is a pivotal role for scaling digital marketing production across diverse global markets.
Key Responsibilities
Technology & Workflow Innovation
  • AI/ML Integration: Implement state-of-the-art AI/Machine Learning tools to streamline and enhance the creative production process from ideation to delivery.
  • Automation Development: Deploy automation solutions for repetitive tasks, focusing on dynamic content creation, asset resizing, localization, personalization, and distribution, particularly for large volumes of digital marketing assets.
  • Prototyping & Experimentation: Rapidly prototype new advertising formats, interactive experiences, and creative-technology solutions (e.g., AR/VR filters, data-driven creative) for campaign testing and deployment.
  • Tool Stack Management: Act as the technical expert for creative technology tools (e.g., CMS integrations, DCO platforms, asset management systems), ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance within the agency's infrastructure.

Creative Production & Execution
  • Data-Driven Creative: Work closely with Data Science and Media teams to translate performance data into actionable creative requirements, building systems that enable real-time asset optimization and personalization at scale.
  • Asset Scalability: Design and implement modular creative systems and templates that maximize efficiency across multiple formats, platforms, and language variants required for US and LATAM markets.
  • Technical Consultation: Serve as the technical bridge between creative teams, developers, and media platforms, ensuring creative output is technically sound, platform-compliant, and optimized for performance across digital channels (e.g., social, display, programmatic, video).
  • Quality Assurance: Define and maintain technical specifications and quality control protocols for automated and AI-generated assets, ensuring brand consistency and market-specific relevance.

Market Focus & Business Impact
  • Performance Optimization: Focus production efforts on driving measurable business outcomes: maximizing revenue generation, increasing customer acquisition rates, and improving campaign ROI, especially within the key US and LATAM segments.
  • Global Scaling: Develop technologies and processes that enable the rapid scaling of creative campaigns from a core concept into thousands of localized and personalized digital executions.

Knowledge, Skills + Experience
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a Creative Technologist, Technical Artist, Creative Developer, or similar role within an agency or in-house creative production environment. Experience supporting large, global tech clients is highly desirable.
  • Programming Proficiency: Highly proficient in scripting/programming languages relevant to creative automation (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Node.js, and API integration).
  • AI/ML Expertise: Demonstrable experience working with and implementing generative AI models (e.g., image, text, video) and understanding of their application within a commercial creative production pipeline.
  • Creative Toolset: Strong understanding of standard creative software workflows (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and the ability to interface with these tools programmatically (e.g., ExtendScript, integrating with APIs).
  • Digital Platforms: Deep technical knowledge of digital advertising ecosystems, including DCO (Dynamic Creative Optimization) platforms, ad servers, ad formats (HTML5, video), and major social media/programmatic platforms.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of designing efficient, high-volume production systems.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese (due to LATAM focus) is a significant advantage.

Additional Desired Skills
  • Familiarity with marketing performance metrics (CPA, ROAS, LTV) and experience linking creative technology implementations to these outcomes.
  • Experience with cloud-based services for media processing (e.g., AWS, GCP).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders (Creative Directors, Account Managers).

For New York and California applicants: The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,00 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, certifications and work location. This range may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus targets, benefits and/or other applicable incentives.
