Job description

The Creative Director is a visionary leader responsible for overseeing the development and execution of innovative creative strategies that elevate the GameStop brand across all platforms. This role will lead a multidisciplinary creative team, including designers, copywriters, and content creators, to deliver best-in-class creative solutions that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a collaborative leader, and a hands-on creative professional with a deep understanding of both digital and traditional marketing channels.

This position will sit onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the creative team to produce compelling, on-brand visuals, campaigns, and messaging across digital, print, in-store, and social channels.
  • Develop and implement creative strategies that align with GameStop's business goals, brand positioning, and customer insights.
  • Drive creative ideation for marketing campaigns, ensuring consistency, innovation, and effectiveness in delivering key brand messages.
  • Oversee the design and production of marketing materials, including website assets, email campaigns, advertising, product packaging, and video content.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Merchandising, E-Commerce, and Product teams, to ensure creative execution supports business objectives.
  • Maintain the GameStop brand guidelines and ensure all creative assets meet quality standards and brand consistency.
  • Work with external agencies, freelancers, and vendors to manage outsourced creative projects as needed.
  • Analyze campaign performance and customer feedback to refine creative strategies and deliver measurable results.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and professional growth within the creative team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).
  • 8+ years of experience in a creative leadership role, preferably in retail, gaming, or consumer brands.
  • Proven experience leading and managing creative teams, including designers, writers, and content producers.
  • Exceptional portfolio showcasing innovative creative work across multiple channels, including digital, print, and video.
  • Strong understanding of brand strategy, storytelling, and creative development processes.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, design tools, and other industry-standard creative software.
  • Experience with Figma is preferred.
  • Experience in video production, motion graphics, and social media content creation is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into compelling creative solutions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Passion for gaming, pop culture, and the GameStop brand is highly desirable.
