The main difference between a Creative Partner and a Creative Director lies in their roles and responsibilities. Creative Partners typically collaborate closely with clients or teams on specific projects, focusing on creative input and partnership. Creative Directors, on the other hand, lead and oversee entire creative teams, setting strategic vision and ensuring project execution aligns with brand goals. Both roles require strong creative credentials, but their scope and leadership levels differ.

What is a Creative Partner?

A Creative Partner is a professional who collaborates closely with individuals, brands, or organizations to develop and execute creative strategies, campaigns, or projects. They often bring expertise in areas such as branding, marketing, design, or content creation, acting as both a consultant and a collaborator. Their role may involve brainstorming ideas, overseeing creative teams, and ensuring that the final output aligns with the client’s vision and business goals. Creative Partners are commonly found in advertising agencies, media companies, or as independent consultants. They play a crucial role in bringing innovative concepts to life and driving creative projects to success.

How do Creative Partners typically collaborate with clients and internal teams during a project?

Creative Partners play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between clients and creative teams. They regularly meet with clients to understand their vision, objectives, and preferences, then translate those insights into actionable briefs for designers, writers, and strategists. Throughout a project, Creative Partners facilitate brainstorming sessions, provide feedback, and ensure alignment between client expectations and the creative output. This collaborative approach helps deliver innovative solutions while maintaining clear communication and project momentum.

Job description

TelevisaUnivision is the leading Spanish-language media company in the world! We're investing in our content, our people, and our properties, which span digital, streaming, social, audio, linear and live events. We're growing our offerings, building on the recent launch of our successful streaming platform ViX. And we're growing our revenue: We were the fastest growing major media company in the U.S. in 2021.

Our Team
A bold, culture-first creative force developing first-class marketing solutions that connect Fortune 500 brands to the U.S. Hispanic community. Since its launch in 2022, Asi Studios has become TelevisaUnivision's award-winning branded content studio, known for producing high-quality, in-culture and in-language content across digital, social, streaming and linear platforms.

We lead content partnerships with a strong emphasis on sports and entertainment storytelling. Our work extends across categories like tech, beauty, healthcare, CPG, retail, and finance crafting bold, insight-driven campaigns that resonate deeply with bilingual and bicultural audiences.

As Univision evolves into marketers' ultimate growth partner, Asi Studios continues to build culturally fluent solutions that help brands authentically engage, inspire and grow with the next generation of U.S. Hispanics.

About the Role

We are seeking a Creative Director to lead the development of sports-driven creative concepts and storytelling at Asi Studios. This role is for a hands-on creative leader who understands sports as culture-and who can translate fandom, athlete narratives, high-stakes competitions, and live moments into brand storytelling that feels authentic, entertaining, and culturally fluent. While sports are the primary lens, this role thoughtfully weaves in lifestyle, entertainment, and community elements that naturally surround sports culture.

You will partner closely with Strategy, Production, and Account teams to bring ideas to life across digital, social, streaming, linear, and emerging media platforms-contributing to pitches and leading creative execution from concept through delivery. Experience creating documentary-style storytelling, episodic formats, and premium sports content is strongly valued.

As Creative Director, you will help shape the studio's creative voice, guiding multidisciplinary teams to develop work that is emotionally resonant, insight-driven, and strategically sound. From high-impact brand campaigns to creator-led content, reactive storytelling, and premium video formats, you'll craft ideas that speak directly to a dynamic, diverse, bicultural audience while shaping the media experience for the next generation of U.S. Hispanics.

Your Day to Day

  • Set the Creative and Strategic Vision: Lead the development of bold, culturally fluent, insight-driven creative ideas rooted in sports insights, fandom behavior, athlete narratives, and competitive moments that push boundaries and align with brand and business objectives.
  • Sports, Entertainment Creative Strategy: Partner with Strategy to define powerful audience insights, brand narratives, cultural frameworks, and storytelling perspectives including documentary-style approaches that elevate the creative thinking across leagues, teams, and major sports ecosystems.
  • Drive Strategic, Cross-Platform Storytelling: Translate brand objectives into powerful creative platforms that perform across languages, generations, formats, and media environments-including social, digital, streaming, linear, and long-form storytelling.
  • Reactive Storytelling Leadership: Oversee rapid creative cycles and real-time ideation, turning live sports moments, trending cultural conversations, and breaking news into immediate, brand-aligned creative output.
  • Inspire and Manage Teams: Guide writers, art directors, producers, editors, and designers. Foster a collaborative, high-performing environment where bold, original thinking thrives.
  • Client Partnership: Serve as a trusted creative partner to clients, confidently leading presentations, building relationships, and translating cultural nuance and authenticity, particularly within Hispanic and bicultural marketing.
  • Lead Ideation and Pitching: Oversee brainstorms and develop pitch-ready concepts. Transform complex briefs into breakthrough ideas deeply rooted in sports cultural truth and audience context.
  • Creative Oversight: Ensure creative excellence and cohesion across all phases of production from treatment writing to edits, visual language development, and final delivery.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with strategy, production, editorial, design, and account teams to ensure alignment and consistency across the entire creative and execution process.
  • Thought Leadership: Help shape the studio's creative identity and contribute to industry conversations through trend awareness, innovative thinking, and cultural insight.
  • Expertise in Navigating the 'In-Between': Craft content that resonates authentically with English-dominant, Spanish-dominant, and bilingual audiences-without relying on stereotypes or surface-level tropes.

You have

  • 6-8 years of experience in a creative role, with significant experience in sports marketing, sports media, or branded sports content, as well as entertainment, social, and digital storytelling.
  • Background in social, content, documentary storytelling, copywriting, art direction, or hybrid creative roles.
  • Proven experience with short form and long-form or documentary-style sports storytelling, athlete-driven narratives, or episodic content development.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating sports-driven creative, including crossover work in lifestyle, entertainment, and culture across digital, social, video, and streaming.
  • Proven creative strategist with experience turning insights into impactful, cross-platform creative campaigns that support brand and business goals.
  • Experience working with athletes, creators, sports properties, or sports-adjacent talent, including league or team partnerships.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. Hispanic cultural dynamics, sports culture, media behavior, generational shifts, and cross-cultural storytelling frameworks.
  • Proven experience leading social-first and creator-led content, as well as working within high-velocity, real-time content environments.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to think, write, and present seamlessly in both languages.
  • Experience collaborating with Strategy teams to turn insights into actionable creative platforms.
  • Experience mentoring multidisciplinary teams and cultivating a strong creative culture.
  • Comfortable guiding the creative process from pitch to post-production, maintaining clarity and creative excellence.
  • Confident client communicator with the ability to translate cultural nuance into meaningful brand value.
  • Passion for innovation, storytelling, and shaping the future of media for U.S. Hispanics.
  • Familiarity or experience with creative tools and emerging technologies, including AI-driven ideation, content workflows, or production tools (a plus but not required).

Bonus Points For

  • Experience working with major sports leagues or events (e.g., NFL, NBA, MLS, MLB, Liga MX, UEFA, CONMEBOL, FIFA, boxing, MMA, or other key global sports properties).
  • Experience within Hispanic-focused media platforms or multicultural agencies.
  • Recognition or awards for multicultural or bilingual creative work.
  • Familiarity with regional and generational differences across the U.S. Latino community.
  • Passion for sports culture beyond the game including music, fashion, food, humor, gaming, and community.
  • Strong knowledge of soccer and global football culture, especially within Hispanic and bicultural audiences.
  • Experience with AI-assisted creative development, content optimization, or workflow tools.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to work from office in New York or Miami and travel as needed for production
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to think, write, present, and communicate seamlessly in both languages (spoken and written proficiency required)
  • Employment/education will be verified
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position.
