Do you love working with kids, bringing energy to every room, and making learning fun? Are you the kind of person who can turn a rainy day into an adventure with just a box of crayons and a great attitude?
If that sounds like you - keep reading! We're looking for an enthusiastic Afterschool Counselor to help lead exciting, educational, and engaging activities for our awesome group of kiddos. From homework help to outdoor games, arts & crafts to high-fives - you'll be part of the team that makes afternoons the best part of their day.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Team up with the Afterschool Lead Counselor to guide and supervise a group of energetic, curious, and creative kids.
  • Support daily activities like:
  • Homework time
  • Outdoor play
  • Arts & crafts
  • Sports and games
  • Reading and more!
  • Keep things fun and safe, following state childcare licensing standards.
  • Be a friendly, encouraging role model - the kind of adult kids look up to.
  • Help with group transitions and make sure everything runs smoothly (you've got this!).
  • Communicate positively with both kids and parents.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming space.
  • Be a team player - pitch in wherever needed to keep the club running smoothly.

Requirements
What You Bring to the Team:
  • You're 16 or older with a genuine passion for working with children.
  • You're energetic, responsible, and love to be on the move.
  • You have strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • You're calm under pressure and cool with a little chaos (aka fun!).
  • Prior childcare or youth programming experience? Even better!
  • Ability to pass state-required background checks.

When You'll Work:
  • Weekdays: Afterschool hours (typically Monday-Friday, 3PM-6PM)
  • Occasionally: One Saturday evening shift (5PM-9PM) per quarter
  • Flexibility for holidays, weekends, and special events is a big plus!

You'll Need To:
  • Be on your feet (walking, standing, bending) for most of your shift.
  • Be ready to jump into indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Be adaptable and ready to work in a high-energy environment (noise and all!).
