Job description

We trust teens to lead. You help them do it well.

Now hiring: Job Coach — New City Kids, Grand Rapids, MI

New City Kids is a high-energy, music-filled, faith-rooted youth ministry where teens are trusted with real leadership — and where adults like you walk alongside them as mentors, coaches, and friends. We employ local high schoolers as paid interns to run our after-school center for kids ages 6–13. The result? Whole-life transformation, on both ends of the relationship.

If you’re a self-motivated adult who loves teens, can hold your own with administrative work, and wants your job to matter — keep reading.

THE ROLE

  • Coach 15–20 Teen Life Interns — supervising their work, tracking their growth, and celebrating their wins.
  • Be a consistent, caring adult presence in teens’ lives through weekly one-on-ones, honest conversations, and real relationships.
  • Help run a vibrant, music-rich after-school center alongside a passionate team of mentors and educators.
  • Keep the wheels turning behind the scenes: documentation, performance reviews, database updates, and the daily details that make excellence possible.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT

  • Make a life-transforming impact — every single day.
  • Work in a highly creative, music-filled environment where bass lines, drum fills, and kids’ voices fill the building.
  • Join a global team reaching youth across 14 sites in 8 countries
  • Join a team of dedicated Christian adults who love kids, take their faith seriously, and don’t take themselves too seriously.
  • Invest in your own development while investing in teens — training, mentorship, and room to rise

WHO YOU ARE

  • A self-starter who doesn’t need to be micromanaged.
  • Comfortable building trust with teens from diverse and complex backgrounds.
  • Strong relational instincts paired with the discipline to follow through on the admin side.
  • A mature follower of Christ aligned with NCK’s Statement of Faith and DEI Policy.
  • Bachelor’s degree and valid driver’s license required.
  • Bonus: musical skills (bass, drums, or keys), Spanish, or experience driving a 15-passenger van.
This job has the potential to turn into a full time job.
Interview will begin the week of August 10, 2026, or soon after.
