Job Title:MANAGER, MID-LEVEL GIVING

JOB SUMMARY:
The manager of midlevel giving will serve as a key member of CARE's President's Circle team, managing direct marketing channels and partner agency relationships to help raise in excess of $13 million annually from donors giving between $1,000 and $10,000 annually. This work will help lead our efforts to drive impactful campaigns, inspire donors, and help fund humanitarian work to save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice for women and families around the world.
Reporting to the director of midlevel giving, the manager will join a highly collaborative, driven, and successful team. The incumbent will be responsible for management of the direct marketing agencies leading CARE's midlevel mail, email, and telemarketing channel communications to ensure that all strategic plans are executed on schedule and within budget.
The manager will support the development and execution of the strategic marketing plan to acquire new donors and retain and maximize current donor giving in direct mail, email, and telemarketing to reach revenue projections, as well as retention and new donor goals. The manager will collaborate with CARE's digital team on the execution of digital and text appeals and stewardship.
The President's Circle manager will work alongside the director, two relationship managers, an intern, and staff responsible for stewardship across teams to ensure alignment and the execution of a first-class donor journey.
The manager will work closely with CARE's gift processing, supporter services, CRM, and other internal teams to help maintain data hygiene and accurate gift processing and reporting.
Location: Open to any location where CARE operates in the United States.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of the execution of CARE's midlevel mail, email, and telemarketing channel communications
Manage the implementation of the marketing plans to ensure campaigns are implemented on time and according to plan. Work with agencies to ensure the creation and production of appeals meet CARE's guidelines and high quality control standards. Ensure the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of the President's Circle mail, email, and telemarketing communications to build donor affinity and show impact.
Ensure the efficient execution of strategies that meets revenue projections and expense budgets.
Primary functions include:
  • Review creative to ensure alignment with creative brief, CARE standards, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure effective and accurate donor segmentation and file pulls.
  • Collaborate with mass market team members to share strategies and optimize production efforts.
  • Collaborate with digital channel leads to produce digital communications that integrate with other channels and meet revenue projections.
  • Help establish and track print production and delivery timelines.
  • Review and approve vendor proofs and correct donor data as needed.
  • Quality check all final communications.
  • Track and reconcile campaign expenses against budget.
  • Manage timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices.
  • Track and report on results to projections
  • Identify trends and opportunities and make recommendations to increase the performance of the program.

Ensure alignment across teams to execute a first-class midlevel donor journey.
Work with midlevel relationship managers, major gift, planned giving, stewardship, and marketing teams as needed to ensure President's Circle donors receive consistent and thoughtful messaging that encourages and shows the impact of their partnership.
Primary functions include:
  • Manage the timing and content of communications that midlevel donors receive across all channels and teams
  • Collaborate with marketing and programs teams for content requests.
  • Work closely with midlevel relationship managers to understand donor behavior and trends and apply as appropriate to direct marketing communications (e.g. smart giving methods like DAF, IRA, and stock).
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure aligned messaging for primary campaigns.
  • Manage the inclusion/exclusion of specific midlevel donor groups in cross-team communications.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of relationship manager and stewardship communications

Work closely with CARE's gift processing, supporter services, and CRM teams to help maintain data hygiene and accurate gift processing.
Primary functions include:
  • Support the maintenance of high quality data updates and hygiene as needed.
  • Work with gift processing and donor services teams to ensure accurate processing of donor data, gifts, and direct communications.
  • Respond directly to donor inquiries received by donor services as needed.
  • Create Salesforce reporting on donor data and performance as needed.

Other duties as assigned
  • Complete additional tasks as needed and as assigned by the director of midlevel giving.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum of 6 years experience with omni-channel direct response fundraising in a non-profit or agency setting, including direct mail, email, and telemarketing. Experience managing these channels alongside stewardship activities is required. Experience working with vendors to manage the creation and production of direct response materials as well as invoicing and budgeting.
- Basic understanding of donor giving vehicles (e.g. donor-advised fund, stock, IRA)
- Competency with a CRM such as Salesforce or Raiser's Edge/NXT, to include an understanding of the importance of data hygiene and data segmentation.
- Proven ability to successfully plan and execute fundraising initiatives to meet revenue and timeline targets
- Strong interpersonal, project management, and presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communicator
- High level of professionalism and drive, with an infectious enthusiasm and passion for delivering results
- Ability to work in a very past-faced environment, with the ability to quickly and effectively reprioritize work
- Passion for CARE's mission

Preferred Qualifications:
- Though it is not required, candidates with midlevel giving direct response experience will be given preference. Preference for candidates with experience in digital and text channels.
- Experience with donor relationship management and moves management a plus.
- Competency with Salesforce CRM is preferred.
