Ro

New York, NY

Full-time

Posted 24 days ago

Job description

Ro is a direct-to-patient healthcare company with a mission of helping patients achieve their health goals by delivering the easiest, most effective care possible. Ro is the only company to offer nationwide telehealth, labs, and pharmacy services. This is enabled by Ro's vertically integrated platform that helps patients achieve their goals through a convenient, end-to-end healthcare experience spanning from diagnosis, to delivery of medication, to ongoing care. Since 2017, Ro has helped millions of patients in nearly every single county in the United States, including 99% of primary care deserts.

Ro is consistently recognized as a top workplace in Health Care, in New York, and for Women and Parents—earning more than 20 honors from Fortune, Great Place to Work, and PEOPLE since 2021. In 2025 alone, we ranked top 5 among medium workplaces in Health Care and New York, and top 50 nationwide.

At Ro, the Lead Creative, Design role is equivalent to a Senior Art Director—a highly experienced individual contributor who leads through craft, taste, and execution.

This is not a people management position. It is a hands-on creative role for someone who sets the bar through the work itself. You will bring ideas to life through exceptional design and art direction, elevating everything we put into the world with a sharp eye and a high standard for craft.

As a Lead Creative, Design, you will be a key creative voice on the Brand Creative team, partnering closely with writers, designers, editors, and cross-functional teams to concept and execute bold, effective work. You will help shape visual direction, contribute to early-stage ideas, and ensure that every output feels intentional, cohesive, and distinctly Ro.

Our team works in flexible, cross-functional squads, and you will be expected to contribute from the very beginning of a project. That means not just executing, but helping define the strategic idea—bringing a strong visual perspective into concepting and pushing the work toward a more expressive, differentiated territory.

This is a role for someone who obsesses over craft. You care deeply about typography, composition, imagery, and detail. You are comfortable working across formats and channels, and you take pride in making the final output feel exceptional, whether it’s a campaign, a TV spot, or a social asset.

You will work across all pillars of the business, including Weightloss, Sexual Health, Dermatology, Fertility, and future growth areas, helping ensure that the Ro brand shows up with clarity, consistency, and creative strength everywhere it lives.

This is a full-time role, and reports into our Design Director.

What you’ll do
  • Concept and execute design across campaigns, paid social, TV, OOH, CRM, and digital

  • Partner with writers and creatives to develop strong, visually compelling ideas from the ground up

  • Lead art direction across projects, including imagery, typography, layout, and overall visual expression

  • Elevate the craft and polish of every deliverable, setting a high bar for execution across all channels

  • Explore and apply AI tools and workflows to push creative output, speed, and craft, helping keep Ro at the forefront of AI-driven design and storytelling

  • Continuously push the Ro brand forward by evolving its visual expression, exploring new directions, and raising the creative bar

  • Take ownership of the work by proactively identifying opportunities, generating ideas, and driving projects forward without waiting for direction

  • Translate creative concepts into thoughtful, well-designed outputs that feel cohesive and on-brand

  • Contribute meaningfully to early-stage concepting within creative squads

  • Provide clear, actionable feedback to elevate the work of other designers and collaborators

  • Contribute to the evolution of Ro’s visual identity through design exploration and references

  • Stay current on design trends, tools, and cultural shifts to keep the work fresh and relevant

  • Partner with external agencies and production teams as needed

What you’ll bring
  • 7+ years of experience in design, art direction, and brand creative

  • Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience using AI tools to enhance creative development, production, and craft (e.g., image generation, concepting, iteration, or workflows)

  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong conceptual thinking and exceptional craft across multiple channels

  • Deep expertise in typography, layout, color, and composition

  • Experience working across both campaign and performance marketing creative

  • Strong art direction skills, including working with photography, video, and motion

  • Ability to contribute to idea generation, not just execution

  • Experience with motion or 3D is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and a consistently high bar for quality

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and move quickly without sacrificing craft

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Comfort working both independently and cross-functionally

  • A passion for Ro’s mission and a drive to push the brand forward

  • A hands-on approach to design and a passion for making, not just directing

How we work

At Ro, we believe great design shapes how people feel, think, and act when making a choice. We also believe it plays a critical role in helping us stand out in the market, build brand awareness, and earn people’s trust and respect. Design is not just about aesthetics. It’s a strategic tool for connection, credibility, and long-term growth.

As Lead Creative, Design you will help us express our brand with clarity, conviction, and care.

  • You lead through craft, taste, and execution—not hierarchy

  •  You elevate the polish and creative quality of every project

  • You bring a strong visual point of view into both concepting and execution

  • You collaborate closely with writers, creatives, and partners to make the work better

  • You adapt quickly to new needs and opportunities

  • You help Ro stand out with visual expression that is purposeful, gutsy, and bold

  • You help shape ideas through collaboration, not hierarchy. You jam with the team, speak up early, and bring a designer’s point of view to the concepting process

  • You are always looking for ways to push our brand forward

We welcome qualified candidates of all races, creeds, genders, and sexuality to apply.

The target base salary for this position ranges from $139,800 to $162,000, in addition to a competitive equity and benefits package (as applicable). When determining compensation, we analyze and carefully consider several factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. These considerations may cause your compensation to vary.
