Position Title: EVENT SALES & DESIGN LEAD - DENVER, CO 

Salary: First 6 months: $80,000 base salary. After 6 months: $53,000 base + biweekly commissions ($85k - $100k+ target total comp)

Job Summary

The Event Sales & Design Lead is a client-facing role responsible for driving revenue while translating client vision. This position blends business development, creative design, and project execution, serving as both a strategic sales partner and a creative resource for clients, planners, and internal teams.

This individual will play a critical role in growing the [Catering by Design sister company] by building relationships, securing new business, and delivering thoughtful, well-executed event concepts that reflect the brands editorial and modern aesthetic. Please note - the compensation model shifts to a base ($53k base) plus commission model (target total annual earnings - $80k - $100k) after six months of employment.

Key Responsibilities include: 

Sales & Business Development

  • Cultivate new business through referrals, outbound outreach, and marketing initiatives to meet or exceed revenue goals
  • Plan and execute individual sales strategies, promotions, and business development efforts in partnership with Creative Director
  • Build and maintain relationships with planners, venues, and key industry partners
  • Actively participate in industry events, organizations, and networking opportunities

Event Design & Proposal Development

  • Create original client proposals that include decor and furniture layouts, tabletop styling, and floral direction (in collaboration with the in-house floral team)
  • Translate client vision into cohesive, elevated concepts
  • Work across a range of budgets while maintaining design integrity and profitability

Client & Project Management

  • Lead client communication from initial inquiry through event execution
  • Negotiate contracts and secure signed agreements, deposits, and final event details
  • Ensure all event details are accurate, organized, and communicated to internal teams

Event Execution & Team Leadership

  • Attend event installations and provide on-site direction to ensure design integrity and successful execution
  • Collaborate with warehouse, floral, and production teams to align on logistics and setup requirements
  • Assist on-site as needed to support overall event success

Creative Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and creative development initiatives
  • Stay current on design trends, materials, and industry innovations
  • Maintain proficiency in systems such as Canva, AllSeated, and other relevant tools

Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years experience in event sales, event design, or a related hospitality field
  • Strong design sensibility with the ability to translate concepts into executable plans
  • Proven ability to generate and close new business
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking abilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
