Water Lily Learning Center - Avondale is a respected early learning center in Cincinnati, Ohio, serving families with compassion, consistency, and care. We implement the Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers & Twos to provide high-quality, relationship-based care for our youngest learners.

Job Overview
We are looking for a committed and experienced Lead Infant Teacher to join our Avondale team. This is an opportunity to lead a nurturing classroom that provides responsive care, predictable routines, and rich developmental experiences for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months.

The ideal candidate will bring knowledge of infant development, a warm caregiving style, and a strong commitment to family partnership and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Plan and implement individualized routines and activities using the Creative Curriculum and Ohio's Early Learning and Development Standards
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a clean, calm, and safe environment for infants, including proper feeding, diapering, and rest protocols
  • Assessment & Documentation: Conduct regular developmental observations and document progress in accordance with DCY guidelines
  • Family Engagement: Communicate with families daily, sharing updates on routines, growth, and emerging skills
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training on infant caregiving, safety, and brain development
  • Compliance & Safety: Follow all DCY regulations and Water Lily policies related to infant care, sleep safety, and hygiene

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Infant/Toddler Development, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a licensed infant classroom, with prior lead teaching experience
  • Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications; all DCY-required clearances
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of infant needs, attachment, and developmental milestones
    • Excellent communication with both team members and families
    • Knowledge of best practices for feeding, diapering, sleep safety, and documentation
    • Confidence in using technology for tracking routines and assessments
