Job Description:
Job Summary
A communications specialist serving both Nuclear Engineering (NE) and Engineering Education (ENE) within the College of Engineering. Reporting to the Director of Communications in Engineering Administration, this role strengthens awareness, engagement, and demand for Purdue Engineering through high-quality marketing and communications. The position conceptualizes and produces creative, on-brand content across digital and print channels; collaborates with writers, designers, photographers, videographers, web developers, and academic/administrative partners; and ensures consistent brand standards across platforms. Although hybrid, the communicator is expected to be on-site when requested by school leadership.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Serve as communications specialist for NE and ENE, producing strategic, audience-appropriate content from concept through implementation.
  • Collaborate with creative teams across the College to ensure brand consistency across all mediums.
  • Manage and update school websites, faculty/lab pages, and digital platforms (FB, LI, X, IG, YT).
  • Create and curate engaging digital content; coordinate video and animation production with College videographers.
  • Monitor, track, and report social media engagement and website analytics to drive continual improvement.
  • Develop and manage integrated strategic communications plans for both schools.
  • Write and edit marketing collateral, annual reports, newsletters, brochures, flyers, news articles, and press releases.
  • Coordinate with Purdue News Service and campus partners on news and media content.
  • Conduct research on industry practices, peer institutions, competitors, and target audiences to inform strategy.
  • Perform other communications-related duties as assigned.
