Job description

The Safety Coordinatorโ€™s primary responsibility is to support the incident and injury free field operation at their designated regional office site and to promote MEIโ€™s safety culture. The Safety Coordinator supports numerous disciplines within the Specialty Machinery Moving group and assists with multiple safety and environment-related tasks to help ensure that all employees in all areas are working professionally and without risk of personal injury or impact to the facilities and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):
  • Minimum of two (2) yearsโ€™ experience working in Excel and performing data entry.
  • Three (3) yearsโ€™ proven EHS or safety experience (preferably within the heavy construction industry.
  • Current OSHA 30 in construction, but OSHA 510 preferred.
Preferred Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):
  • Three (3) yearsโ€™ proven safety experience in a multi-site & multi-state organization.
  • CHST is helpful but not required.
  • Associates degree in occupational safety, project construction safety experience, or similar industry, or equivalent years of experience.
Professional Skills & Abilities:
  • Possesses a detailed understanding of applicable legal requirements (i.e. Codes, Standards and Administrative Policies).
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability working independently and collectively, assertive, organized, detail oriented, punctual, and highly self-motivated.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to partner with employees at all levels.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Standard office environment including work at a computer terminal. Work involves extended periods of sitting, occasional walking and lifting up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
