Location: Various Event Venues

Position Type: Temporary / On-Call

Schedule: Varied - Must be flexible to work weekends, overnights and holidays as needed 

Pay: $16+/hourly 

Job Summary

LOD Staffing is seeking reliable and hardworking Event Conversion Crew Members (Heavy Lifters) to support large-scale events at venues such as arenas, convention centers, and stadiums. This role is responsible for the physical setup, breakdown, and transformation of event spaces. Ideal candidates are team-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform event setup and breakdown, including staging, seating, barricades, tables, chairs, and flooring
  • Safely move, lift, and transport heavy equipment and materials
  • Assist with event conversions (e.g., basketball court to concert setup, trade show floor builds, etc.)
  • Load and unload trucks with event equipment and supplies
  • Follow detailed instructions from supervisors and conversion leads
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Operate basic tools and equipment as needed (training provided if applicable)
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet strict deadlines
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures at all times


Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to lift 50–75+ lbs consistently throughout the shift
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to pass a background check (as required by client and assignment)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in event setup, general labor, warehouse, or construction
  • Experience working in arenas, convention centers, or large venues
  • Familiarity with tools, rigging, or equipment operation
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience (a plus, not required)
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work under tight timelines


Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, high-energy event environments
  • Indoor and outdoor venues, including arenas, stadiums, and convention centers
  • Exposure to varying temperatures depending on venue and event requirements
  • Work may take place overnight or during early morning hours based on event schedules
  • High-noise environments during active event setup or breakdown


Physical Demands

  • Frequent heavy lifting (50–75+ lbs), pushing, and pulling
  • Continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing stairs
  • Ability to work long shifts (8–12+ hours), often on concrete surfaces
  • Repetitive motion tasks involving lifting, carrying, and equipment handling
