How much do crankshaft operator jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 15, 2026, the average hourly pay for crankshaft operator in the United States is $24.46, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $20.43 and $30.05 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Is a machinist a good paying job?

A machinist, including crankshaft operators, typically earns a competitive wage that varies by experience, location, and industry. Skilled machinists who operate complex machinery and hold certifications often have higher salaries, making it a well-paying trade job compared to many entry-level positions.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Crankshaft operators typically do not earn $2000 a day; such high daily wages are usually associated with specialized roles like senior executives, highly experienced consultants, or certain freelance professionals. Most manufacturing or industrial jobs pay hourly wages, and earning $2000 daily generally requires advanced skills, certifications, or working in high-paying industries or consulting roles.

What are some common challenges faced by a Crankshaft Operator, and how can they be overcome?

Crankshaft Operators often face challenges related to maintaining precision during machining and handling heavy equipment safely. Variations in material quality and machine calibration can impact the accuracy of the finished product, making attention to detail and regular equipment checks crucial. Effective communication with maintenance and quality control teams is essential to promptly address any mechanical or quality issues. Continuous training and adherence to safety protocols also help ensure smooth operations and reduce the risk of workplace injuries.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Crankshaft Operator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Crankshaft Operator, you need mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of machining processes, often supported by a high school diploma or vocational training. Familiarity with CNC machines, micrometers, calipers, and blueprint reading is typically required, along with knowledge of safety protocols. Strong problem-solving skills, reliability, and teamwork help operators excel in maintaining quality and efficiency. These skills ensure the precise production of crankshafts, minimize defects, and maintain a safe, productive workplace.

What are Crankshaft Operators?

Crankshaft Operators are skilled workers who operate machinery used to manufacture, grind, or repair crankshafts, which are essential components in engines. Their duties include setting up machines, monitoring production, inspecting finished crankshafts for quality, and performing routine maintenance on equipment. They must follow safety protocols and specifications to ensure crankshafts meet precise engineering standards. Crankshaft Operators often work in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial settings, contributing to the production of reliable engine parts.

What is the difference between Crankshaft Operator vs Camshaft Machinist?

AspectCrankshaft OperatorCamshaft Machinist
Required CertificationsMachining certifications, blueprint readingMachining certifications, blueprint reading
Work EnvironmentManufacturing plants, machine shopsManufacturing plants, machine shops
Industry UsageAutomotive, heavy machineryAutomotive, engine manufacturing
Job FocusOperating machines to produce crankshaftsMachining and finishing camshafts

Both roles require machining skills and certifications, often in similar environments like manufacturing plants. The main difference lies in the specific components they work on: crankshaft operators focus on producing crankshafts, while camshaft machinists specialize in camshafts. Understanding these distinctions helps in choosing the right career path or job search focus.

What jobs pay $500,000 a year in the US?

Crankshaft operators typically do not earn $500,000 annually; such high salaries are usually associated with executive roles, specialized surgeons, or successful business owners. Most manufacturing or industrial roles have lower compensation levels, though highly experienced or supervisory positions may reach higher six-figure incomes. Achieving $500,000 a year generally requires advanced skills, certifications, or ownership of a business.

What jobs pay $10,000 a month without a degree?

A Crankshaft Operator typically earns less than $10,000 per month, as this role usually pays between $3,000 and $6,000 monthly. High-paying jobs that can reach or exceed $10,000 a month without a degree include commercial pilot, real estate broker, sales manager, or skilled trades like elevator installers, often requiring specialized training or certifications. These roles often involve technical skills, experience, or licensing rather than formal college degrees.
