About Excentium
Excentium, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Reston, Virginia, with nearly two decades of federal cybersecurity experience. Excentium holds FedRAMP A2LA 3PAO accreditation, CMMC Level 2 certification, and maintains ISO 9001/27001/20000-1 and CMMI DEV ML2 credentials. The company serves federal civilian and defense agencies across two client-facing Business Units: CPS (consulting, advisory, and independent assessment services) and Public Sector (federal prime and subcontract delivery). Excentium is at an inflection point - a proven track record, a strong technical team, and an intentional investment in market development and brand elevation to match the company's capabilities with its visibility.
Position Overview
Excentium is seeking a Director, FedRAMP Strategy & Market Development to serve as the company's primary external voice in the federal FedRAMP and cybersecurity community. This is a corporate-level, market-facing role reporting directly to the President & CEO. The Director will operate across both Business Units - driving FedRAMP 20x thought leadership, cultivating federal relationships that generate new business opportunities, and elevating Excentium's brand and market presence to a level commensurate with its capabilities and track record.
This role is designed for a recognized FedRAMP practitioner who combines deep program knowledge with the presence, credibility, and relationship capital to open doors and represent Excentium at the highest levels of the federal market. The right candidate understands the federal authorization ecosystem from the inside, has a vision for where FedRAMP 20x is headed, and wants to be part of a company positioned to lead in that space.
Key Responsibilities
FedRAMP Strategy & Thought Leadership
  • Serve as Excentium's primary subject matter authority on FedRAMP 20x strategy, policy modernization, and the evolving federal cloud authorization landscape
  • Represent Excentium at industry conferences, federal working groups, and other forums that elevate the company's profile and influence
  • Develop and publish thought leadership content - whitepapers, articles, presentations, and social content - that positions Excentium as a recognized voice in the FedRAMP community
  • Advise Excentium's CPS practice on evolving FedRAMP requirements, assessment trends, and service positioning to ensure offerings remain current and competitive

Relationship-Driven Business Development
  • Leverage established federal agency relationships - particularly within the VA and federal health IT ecosystem - to identify and develop qualified opportunities across CPS advisory and Public Sector delivery
  • Cultivate relationships with federal Authorizing Officials, ISSOs, CISOs, and program leadership to build pipeline and position Excentium for emerging requirements
  • Support capture efforts by providing market intelligence, stakeholder mapping, and relationship access that strengthens Excentium's competitive positioning
  • Collaborate with CPS and Public Sector Business Unit leads to ensure market development activity translates into qualified, closeable pipeline

Marketing & Brand Elevation
  • Lead development and execution of Excentium's external marketing strategy, including digital presence, LinkedIn, conference presence, and targeted outreach
  • Build and maintain Excentium's brand identity within the FedRAMP 20x and federal cybersecurity community to reflect the company's actual capabilities and two-decade track record
  • Develop compelling capability statements, one-pagers, and market-facing collateral that differentiate Excentium from competitors
  • Identify and pursue speaking opportunities, panel participation, and industry engagements that amplify Excentium's visibility

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in federal FedRAMP program management, cloud authorization, or related federal cybersecurity roles
  • Demonstrated experience working within or alongside a federal agency Authorization to Operate (ATO) program, including direct interaction with Authorizing Officials, ISSOs, and Cloud Service Providers
  • Deep familiarity with NIST RMF, FedRAMP authorization processes, continuous monitoring, and evolving FedRAMP 20x modernization initiatives
  • Proven ability to communicate complex cybersecurity and compliance concepts to executive-level federal stakeholders
  • Established network within the federal FedRAMP, cloud security, or federal health IT ecosystem
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop compelling external-facing content

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) cybersecurity or FedRAMP programs
  • Familiarity with VA OIT organizational structure, authorization workflows, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Experience supporting or coordinating with Third Party Assessment Organizations (3PAOs)
  • Knowledge of CMMC Level 2 requirements and federal supply chain cybersecurity frameworks
  • Active Secret or higher security clearance
  • CAP, CISSP, CISA, or related cybersecurity certification (or active pursuit thereof)
  • Experience with federal BD, capture management, or proposal development in a professional services environment

What Excentium Offers
  • A direct reporting relationship to the President & CEO with full executive visibility and sponsorship
  • Corporate-level mandate spanning both CPS and Public Sector Business Units - broad scope, no organizational constraints
  • Opportunity to own and define Excentium's FedRAMP 20x market position at a critical inflection point in the federal authorization landscape
  • Competitive compensation plan
  • Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401K and paid leave
  • Remote work flexibility with periodic travel to federal agency meetings, industry events, and company engagements
