Job description

Project Blue Financial Consulting

Position Overview

Project Blue Financial Consulting is seeking an experienced CPA who is ready for a more dynamic, strategic, and entrepreneurial opportunity.

This role is designed for a CPA who wants to move beyond traditional accounting work and step into a more advanced advisory environment involving government rebates and incentives, strategic tax planning, business consulting, and sophisticated financial architecture.

The ideal candidate is someone who already understands accounting, tax fundamentals, financial documents, and business operations, but is looking for a new challenge, expanded exposure, and the opportunity to enhance their skill set in a growing advisory platform.

This is not a traditional back-office accounting position.

You will work closely with Project Blue’s sales team, strategic partners, advisory network, and client base to help explain government rebates and incentives, identify potential opportunities, support client education, and assist in building advanced tax architecture systems for clients.

For the right CPA, this role offers a base salary along with additional earning opportunities beyond what is typically available in a traditional accounting or CPA position. These opportunities are tied to client impact, business growth, and the value created through strategic advisory work.

About the Role

Project Blue helps businesses uncover overlooked opportunities tied to government rebates, incentives, tax optimization, and financial strategy.

As our Strategic CPA, you will play a key role in helping clients better understand these opportunities while working alongside our sales team and advisory partners to support the discovery, documentation, and implementation process.

You will also be assigned to help build, organize, and support advanced tax architecture systems for our clients. This may include reviewing business structures, analyzing financial and operational data, identifying potential incentive opportunities, and helping organize strategies that support long-term client value.

This role is ideal for a CPA who enjoys problem-solving, client interaction, strategy, financial analysis, and building systems — not just preparing returns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Blue’s sales team in explaining government rebates, incentives, and strategic tax opportunities to prospective and existing clients
  • Help clients understand how government rebates and incentives may apply to their business
  • Assist in identifying qualifying rebate, incentive, and tax strategy opportunities for businesses
  • Review financial documents, tax returns, payroll records, operational data, and business structures
  • Work in conjunction with Project Blue’s strategic tax, legal, financial, and advisory partners
  • Support the development of advanced tax architecture systems for clients
  • Help analyze client businesses for potential tax efficiency, incentive eligibility, and strategic planning opportunities
  • Participate in client discovery calls and help translate complex tax, incentive, and financial concepts into clear, understandable explanations
  • Support Project Blue’s sales professionals by providing technical insight, credibility, and strategic guidance during the client education process
  • Support documentation gathering and organization for incentive-related claims and strategic planning initiatives
  • Research federal and state incentive programs, rebate opportunities, and business tax strategies
  • Assist with client onboarding, information collection, and opportunity qualification
  • Maintain organized records, reports, follow-up notes, and client opportunity summaries
  • Participate in ongoing education related to advanced tax architecture, government incentives, business consulting, and financial strategy
  • Help identify ways Project Blue can create additional value for clients through strategic tax and financial planning opportunities

What Makes This Opportunity Different

This role gives an experienced CPA the opportunity to expand into higher-level advisory work.

You will gain exposure to:

  • Government rebate and incentive programs
  • Advanced tax architecture systems
  • Strategic tax planning concepts
  • Business tax optimization strategies
  • Client-facing advisory conversations
  • Financial strategy and opportunity analysis
  • Real estate and investment-related tax structures
  • Sophisticated financial architecture used by larger firms, institutional operators, and advanced business owners
  • Cross-functional collaboration with sales, advisory, and strategic partner teams
  • Performance-based growth opportunities tied to value creation and client impact
  • This is a strong opportunity for a CPA who wants to sharpen their skill set, increase their strategic value, and work inside a growing entrepreneurial organization.

Financial Opportunity

This role includes a base salary with additional financial growth opportunities beyond traditional CPA compensation.

Because Project Blue operates in a client advisory, incentive discovery, strategic tax architecture, and business growth environment, this position may provide opportunities for increased earnings tied to performance, client impact, business development support, and long-term organizational growth.

For the right CPA, this is an opportunity to do more than perform traditional accounting work. It is a chance to participate in a growing platform where technical expertise, strategic thinking, and client value creation can create meaningful financial upside.

Project Blue is looking for someone who wants to be compensated not only for what they know, but also for the value they help create.

Qualifications

  • Active CPA license preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field
  • Prior experience in tax, accounting, advisory, business consulting, or financial analysis
  • Strong understanding of tax returns, financial statements, payroll records, and business documentation
  • Comfortable speaking with business owners, executives, sales professionals, and advisory partners
  • Ability to explain complex financial or tax concepts in simple, practical language
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage documentation and follow-up
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial software, and document review
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in tax strategy, business consulting, government incentives, and financial architecture
  • Ability to support both technical analysis and client-facing conversations

Ideal Candidate

  • We are looking for someone who:
  • Is an experienced CPA looking for a new challenge
  • Wants to enhance their skill set beyond traditional accounting
  • Enjoys helping business owners understand financial opportunities
  • Can support a sales team with technical knowledge and professional credibility
  • Is comfortable reviewing financial documents and identifying potential opportunities
  • Wants exposure to advanced tax architecture and strategic planning
  • Enjoys solving problems and building systems
  • Is intellectually curious and eager to learn sophisticated financial concepts
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Is interested in creating value for clients and being rewarded for that value
  • Wants to be part of a company helping clients access strategies often reserved for larger firms and institutional operators
