What's the highest paying culinary job?

The highest paying culinary jobs are executive chefs and culinary directors, often earning six-figure salaries. These roles require extensive experience, leadership skills, and often advanced certifications, overseeing large kitchens or restaurant groups. Compensation varies based on location, establishment size, and individual expertise.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Restaurant Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Restaurant Manager, you need strong leadership, organizational skills, and experience in food service operations, often supported by a degree in hospitality or relevant certifications. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and food safety standards is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and customer service orientation help set top managers apart. These skills ensure efficient restaurant operations, satisfied customers, and effective team management in a fast-paced environment.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

High-paying jobs that can reach $4,000 a week without a degree often include roles such as commercial pilot, real estate broker, or sales manager, which typically require specialized skills, licensing, or experience. These positions may involve commission-based income, sales targets, or technical expertise, and often demand strong interpersonal or technical skills rather than formal college degrees.

What is a course restaurant?

A course restaurant is a dining establishment that serves meals in a series of distinct courses, such as appetizers, main dishes, and desserts, each presented separately and in a specific sequence. This style of dining is often referred to as 'prix fixe' or 'tasting menu,' where guests experience a curated progression of flavors and dishes. Course restaurants focus on elevating the dining experience through careful pacing, presentation, and pairing of courses, often highlighting the chef's creativity. These restaurants are popular for special occasions and fine dining experiences.

Can I work in a restaurant with no experience?

Many restaurant jobs, including entry-level positions like server, host, or dishwasher, do not require prior experience. Employers often provide on-the-job training, and having good communication skills and a positive attitude can help you get started. Certifications such as food safety training may be beneficial but are not always mandatory for entry-level roles.

Job description

Grass Clippings Rolling Hills, located in Tempe, AZ, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Executive Chef! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Arizona's most exciting culinary concept is looking for its next creative force.
We are not a traditional golf course restaurant. Glenrosa is a vibrant Sonoran live-fire restaurant and social destination built around scratch-made cuisine, bold flavors, community, and the energy of modern Arizona hospitality. Since opening in April 2025, we have generated more than $4 million in sales—and we are just getting started.

We need a Head Chef who brings the same fire as the kitchen. Someone who leads from the line, builds a culture people want to work in, and understands that every plate is a brand moment.

WHAT THIS POSITION REALLY IS
The Head Chef will oversee all culinary operations at Glenrosa—from daily kitchen execution to menu development, event programming, food cost management, and team leadership. This role carries ultimate responsibility for the quality, consistency, and culture of everything that comes out of the kitchen. Running the full operation

This role owns the full culinary operation—menu development, seasonal features, food cost controls, ordering, scheduling, training, and compliance. You will work directly alongside F&B leadership and collaborate with Events, Golf, and the broader Grass Clippings team to support activations, tournaments, nightlife, and private events.

  • Culinary Operations
  • Menu Development
  • Team Leadership
  • Food Cost & Controls
  • Event & Activation Support
  • Kitchen Culture
  • Inventory & Ordering
  • Cross-Department Collaboration

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

  • Building a kitchen people are proud to work in.
  • Delivering a culinary experience guests talk about.
  • Developing menus that feel innovative, seasonal, and alive.
  • Leading a team with accountability, creativity, and genuine hospitality.
  • Driving food cost efficiency without sacrificing quality.
  • Making Glenrosa one of the Valley's most talked-about dining destinations.

WHO YOU ARE:
Culinary leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment is required. We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for scratch-made, live-fire cuisine, strong leadership and communication skills, and the organizational ability to run a full kitchen operation efficiently and profitably.

Experience with Sonoran or Southwestinspired cuisine is a plus—but a love of bold, creative food is non-negotiable. Kitchen EXCELLENCE MATTERS

Experience with or willingness to learn:

  • BevSpot inventory program
  • Food cost tracking & waste management
  • Ordering and purchasing controls
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Event and catering execution
  • Budgeting & reporting
  • Inventory & purchasing controls
  • Accounts payable/receivable workflows
  • Team scheduling and operational system
  • Menu costing and pricing

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD:

  • A rotating seasonal menu rooted in Sonoran flavors
  • Live-fire and wood-fire feature programming
  • A culinary identity that makes Glenrosa a destination
  • Staff training programs that build a hospitality-first kitchen
  • Event menus for tournaments, nightlife, and private dining
