Department: Golf Course Maintenance

Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent

Classification: Full Time Seasonal

Salary: $45,000-$50,000 annually

About Rebel Creek

Opening in 2003, Rebel Creek Golf Club is a 6940-yard par-72 golf course located just outside Kitchener-Waterloo Ontario. Rebel Creek is proud to offer members and public players one of Southwestern Ontario's premier public golf experiences. The course features expansive bent grass fairways, USGA greens and 5 sets of tee decks. Rebel Creek is also home to one of Canada's top public practice facilities.

We are currently seeking an energetic, enthusiastic Assistant Superintendent with a passion for turf management and customer service.

Position Overview

At Rebel Creek Golf Club, the Assistant Superintendent is a key member of the senior management team. Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will lead, train, organize, supervise and mentor staff and assist in the management and execution of all golf course maintenance and conditioning activities. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented turf professional with a strong work ethic and an interest in building a long-term career in the golf industry.

Primary Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities
Assist in the management and execution of all golf course maintenance and operations.
Provide leadership, hiring, training, and supervision of golf course operations staff.
Contribute to budgeting, planning, and execution of capital improvement initiatives.
Manage payroll
Ensure safe, conscientious completion of all job tasks.
Maintain the highest standards of course conditioning, safety, and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications:

Requirements
Graduate of a post-secondary Turfgrass Management program or equivalent education/certification in a related field (or currently working toward)
Experience in golf course maintenance or a related field
Landscape Pesticide Applicators License (or willingness to obtain)
IPM agent certification (or willingness to obtain)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
Positive, motivated and professional attitude with a strong work ethic
