Desert Mountain Club features seven signature golf courses (six of which are Jack Nicklaus & an all-new par 54 championship course). In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and management of the golf courses. Supervise the maintenance of the golf courses, minor construction projects, course additions, and the maintenance and repair of motorized mechanical equipment.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of golf maintenance leadership experience and 4 years of well-rounded golf course experience. A minimum two-year turf certificate in turf grass management from a recognized college or university. Certified pesticide applicator in the state of Arizona or the ability to obtain upon hire. Must have a valid driver's license.

JOB DETAILS
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule maintenance of golf courses' equipment and team members to optimum efficiency.
  • Supervise the progress of the Assistant Superintendents. Maintenance and repair of all mechanical and motorized equipment used on the golf course.
  • Supervise the operation of an equipment repair shop.
  • Design, plan, and instruct equipment operators in the operation and care of mowing and other equipment.
  • Supervise and participate in the operation and maintenance of pumps and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems.
  • Assist the Superintendent in keeping records of annual maintenance activities, including but not limited to; chemical and fertilizer applications as required by law.
  • Budget, plan, and direct the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of motorized and mechanical equipment.
  • Assist Superintendent in irrigation, lake transfer, and systems/programs.
  • Supervise the planting, fertilization, and maintenance of turf.
  • Assist in planning, budgeting, laying out, and supervising minor construction projects and course additions.
  • Additional standards include an ability to maintain tees, fairways, greens, and appurtenances to the highest standards of golf course play including major national championships.
  • Manage the golf courses in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Plan and supervise the mowing, watering, and maintenance of golf courses and ensure golf course and team members are utilized with maximum efficiency.
  • Order supplies and materials within budgetary limitations.
  • Assist in making personnel and cost estimates for the annual budget and/or other maintenance projects.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and annual budget estimates.
  • Attend seminars, conferences, and educational opportunities and stay abreast of current industry standards.
  • Maintain effective team member and department relations with the other courses.
  • Assist in conducting performance reviews and improvement plans.
  • Participate in the procurement, hiring, disciplining, promoting, and discharging of teammates under guidelines established by DMC Inc.
  • Always treat all team members with dignity and respect, upholding DMC's policies, and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
