Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Agent in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this role, you will support daily operations with professionalism, teamwork, and integrity while contributing to a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative culture.


Position Type: Full Time

The hiring process takes 5-8 weeks due to the county background clearance process.

Must have a clean background and driving record

Pay Rate: $26.81 / Hour

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members of the public by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities appropriate for a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and document observations and actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support site staff and public-facing operations by maintaining a visible presence, following post orders, and completing required reports related to security-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Pepper spray certification is preferred.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
