About the role
The Legal Department for the Illinois Agricultural Association, parent company of the COUNTRY Financial group, is seeking candidates for a property/casualty insurance attorney on its regulatory operations team. This team represents the interests of COUNTRY Financial in a wide variety of regulatory issues related to its products and services, including personal auto, homeowners, farm and agribusiness, and commercial insurance. The regulatory team provides legal analysis and advice on a variety of corporate initiatives, major projects, operations, and operational processes.
Attorneys in the Legal Department counsel and advise the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) and its affiliated companies, including the COUNTRY Financial group, on various matters of legal concern, including but not limited to property/casualty insurance regulation and compliance, corporate governance, general corporate matters, and commercial transactions.

- Provides wide range of legal service, involving independent planning, research, investigation, development of legal advice and review of corporate materials which are of substantial importance to the status and operation of Illinois Agricultural Association and Affiliated Companies.
- Attorneys may be asked to concentrate in one or more specific areas, with opportunities for cross-practice experience on various projects, including, but not limited to, Agriculture, Banking and Securities, Contracts, Insurance and Regulatory, Corporate Governance, E-Commerce, E-Discovery, Employment and Employee Benefits, Intellectual Property, Litigation, Real Estate and Mortgages, Tax and Transactional.
Do you have what we're looking for?
Typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
- Licensed to practice law in the United States and ability to obtain bar admittance in Illinois (full or in-house) within a year.
- Current with continuing legal education requirements set by applicable licensing body.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Strong legal research skills.

Base Pay Range:
$100,800-$138,600
The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.
Incentive Pay:
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
