Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for developing operational requirements and coordinating between staff resulting in actionable tasks to be implemented into the Counterdrug mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development and definition of CD Concept of Operations (CONOPS), conduct studies and analyses, provide engineering evaluations on recommended system changes, and participate in conducting or witnessing system testing.
  • Provide engineering assistance to optimize surveillance, command and control, and communications systems.
  • Support the development of bilingual (Spanish/English) agreements based off operational requirements.
  • Coordinate and assist Combatant Commands, Air Components, System Program Offices (SPOs), HQ ACC staff and other offices as required to develop, refine, and translate operational requirements into technical specifications for implementation of new capabilities for the CD mission.
  • Support implementation and integration of CD systems from concept development to operational use.
  • Provide operations subject matter expert exchanges (SMEEs) to US and Partner Nation forces.
  • Support the sustainment of the ACC CD Network.
  • Assist in the development of bilingual (Spanish/English) technical guides and procedures for PN personnel use.
  • Primary work location will be within HQ ACC/A3O (Government facilities), Langley AFB, VA and secondary work location, as required, will be in a Contractor provided office in the Langley AFB, VA local area. Travel is required to various CONUS and OCONUS locations. Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday standard core hours, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of air operational experience. Experience working in the Latin America environment with Latin American Air Forces, US Embassy agencies, or US Military Groups in the field of CD surveillance, command and control, and communications..
  • Secret clearance is required from contract performance start date
  • Fluency in technical and conversational Spanish (DLPT Level 3+), and the ability to translate between English and Spanish
