Job description

COUNSELOR | $30.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Counselor will receive and manage referrals directly from Adult Protective Services (APS), conduct in-depth assessments, and provide direct support and advocacy to clientsparticularly older adults. This role emphasizes trauma-informed care, client-centered practices, and empowering individuals to achieve their self-directed goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and manage referrals from Adult Protective Services (APS).
  • Conduct in-depth assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and goals.
  • Apply trauma-informed care and client-centered practices.
  • Perform required home visits and community-based interactions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records.
  • Provide direct support and advocacy for clients, especially older adults.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and community partners.
  • Work at additional locations as needed.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science. (Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling).


Experience: Two (2) years of professional counseling or related social services experience

required. Master's degree in a social or behavioral science may substitute for the experience requirement.
