They typically work under the supervision of licensed counselors or therapists while gaining practical experience in providing counseling services to clients. Their responsibilities often include conducting client assessments, participating in counseling sessions, and learning ethical and professional standards. Counseling trainees play a crucial role in their own professional development and in supporting clients under supervision. We prioritize accessibility by providing a variety of therapeutic services, including telehealth and in-person counseling, aimed at supporting adults, children, and families facing emotional and social challenges. This role encompasses the delivery of quality clinical social work services that utilize evidence-based psychotherapy techniques, assuring comprehensive care tailored to individual client needs.

About the Organization

At the Behavioral Wellness Center, LLC, our mission is to enhance the lives of our clients through innovative therapeutic practices and a robust support system. With flexible service delivery models, we connect clients with licensed therapists who are well-versed in managing a diverse range of psychological and emotional issues. Our team is committed to collaboration among clinical staff, medical professionals, and families, ensuring holistic care for those we serve in the community.

Work Environment

This position is unique in that it operates within a remote work framework, allowing you to provide services without the constraints of a physical office while ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice are upheld. The environment is supportive and focused on continuous improvement, where team members collaborate on clinical strategies, share insights through regular meetings, and participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices and compliance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain comprehensive, audit-compliant documentation for each intern, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date in our AWARDS electronic health record system.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for interns, offering constructive feedback to support their growth and development within the program.
  • Monitor the caseloads and assignments of interns, collaborating with Centralized Intake and clinical supervisors to ensure effective service delivery and address any concerns.
  • Participate actively in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to guarantee compliance with agency policies and funding requirements.
  • Provide crisis and non-crisis clinical consultations through telehealth and telephone as needed, ensuring timely support for clients.
  • Facilitate training workshops for interns and university programs to foster an environment of learning and compliance with evolving policies.
  • Coordinate and lead recruitment events to attract new interns and trainees, thus supporting workforce development in mental health services.
  • Engage actively in program objectives and service delivery standards, contributing to the overall effectiveness of our clinical programs.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for yourself and clients, reporting maintenance issues to the management promptly.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with a diverse patient population, including individuals facing terminal illnesses, their families, and groups requiring psycho-social support. Your expertise as an LCSW will be critical in providing tailored therapeutic interventions that address grief, anxiety, and adjustment disorders, enabling clients to navigate their challenges with dignity and support.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California, with independent practice capability.
  • Reliable internet connectivity to facilitate telehealth services and maintain communication workflows.
  • Residency in the United States, with legal authorization to operate as a clinician within California.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in hospice care or with terminally ill patients is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AWARDS, and compliance standards for mental health services.
  • Prior experience in supervising or mentoring interns or trainees within a clinical setting.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 122,000 per year for this full-time position. In addition, you will benefit from a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, along with retirement plans. Our Employee Assistance Program is available for personal and professional mental health support, ensuring our team members maintain their well-being.

Career Growth Opportunities

Joining the Behavioral Wellness Center not only means contributing to an impactful organization but also offers avenues for professional growth. You will have opportunities to participate in continuous training programs, advance your knowledge, and expand your role within clinical operations, reinforcing your career trajectory in mental health services.

Why Join Our Team

Become a part of a team that prioritizes ethical practices and patient-centered care. We are a well-established company with a reputation for effective client engagement and positive outcomes. Here, you will find a supportive culture that values your contributions and empowers you to make a significant impact in the lives of others.
